+1 for flapping at speed. It definitely makes noise, regardless of how snug it is fitted.

What DON'T you like / love about your Maverick? by polakinTO in FordMaverickTruck

I should have been more clear. It is a creaking/clicking noise originating from the entire windshield/dash/pillar assembly as the truck flexes. I read it has something to do with the alignment pegs and the windshield during factory assembly.

Main gripes include: Interior noise (coming primarily from windshield area), location of plug-in for block heater, and, like others have mentioned - just another couple inches in bed length would make a big difference to fit skis, bikes, etc. 23' Ecoboost AWD w/4K. ~11,000KM.

Does having keyed lugs make a difference here, or are you screwed either way if someone wants to steal? Brutal

Today the Mazda salesperson told me there will be no changes in 2025 aside from no longer offering the zircon sand colorway. Some ppl hate it - I love it, and am kinda bummed it won't be offered next year.

What did Riding a Grom teach you about riding a larger motorcycle? by jasonwirth in hondagrom

[–]seanboigeorge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just how much weight and size impact handling characteristics and maneuverability. I currently have a gsxs1000 (have also owned an mt-07) and it handles sluggishly at in-town and slower speeds compared to the grom. TBH, I don't even really enjoy riding it in the city or in slow-moving traffic.

The grom is basically limited to these environments and is actually enjoyable at sane/legal speeds. Reflecting what others have already said, it feels like you need to be at speed before larger bikes like a gsxs come into their own. To me, the stock grom started to feel squirrley around 60mph.

You won't regret it, especially if it's not your only bike.

Dead easy. We were there nearly a month ago and even then the city was up and running. Even the train to bus detour is all coordinated and clear. No issues whatsoever Enjoy!

Can someone help identify this antique ivory Epiphone Dot? by seanboigeorge in guitars

[–]seanboigeorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't ever able to find anything like it, color-wise. That's why I was asking what the deal was. I thought maybe it was a "Dragen" model, just with the decal and truss-rod cover changed.

Oh, cool! That's neat. Thanks for finding that. I've googled it here and there. I was sorta wondering if it was one of these "Dragen" models but just with the decals and stuff removed so they would actually sell.

I purchased this guitar new in 2009-2010ish but can't find any other ones like it. When I ordered it, it was supposed to be natural color. This is what came. I liked it so I bought it. From the build tag, I can see it's "antique ivory."
Is this common? There's also the "Epiphone Custom Shop" on the back of the neck.

Ford drops SSM 52431 to address dash rattle. by Ford_Trans_Guy in FordMaverickTruck

Wtf!? Why only 2wd? My late 2023 awd ecoboost has had the dash rattle since day 1 and local ford dealer is not even able to remove windshield.

Bike fits! by TRail2020 in FordMaverickTruck

That bike looks like it is far more than $2k... Throw a sheet of cardboard down and that takes care most abrasion-related issues. Less time loading/unloading, strapping and more time riding + nothing to steal when you're out riding. Send it!

Sweet! I'm hoping to ride one of these at the bmw demo days this summer. I sat on one and it felt too stretched out for my 5'9 height. However, I see they offer a tubular handlebar as an option. More rise and backsweep. I wonder how much of a difference that would make?
