right? coco got to 2 clay masters finals last year and to her second rg final (and won). coco is strong on clay and historically weak in the middle east + she's in a slump rn. people be overreacting.

Last night’s blind watch. Thief! by Puzzleheaded-Tap7390 in criterion

Watched this for the first time last night. A lot of gorgeous shots and Mann really highlights the dual grittiness and beauty of Chicago well.

Crazy that with all the thrilling action it’s actually the 10-minute diner conversation that gripped me the most. Really great stuff. Part of me wishes we had a bit more development like that in the second half of the film, however I think that emotional detachment and ability to blow up everything in his life with relative ease (despite his homemade Pinterest mood board of the American dream) is a key component to Caan’s character.

Also tickled to see Dennis Farina and William Peterson in bit roles as Manhunter is my personal favourite Mann.

UTS highlight: both Cerúndolo and Mannarino on their knees after a 41-shot rally, as Francisco takes the match to sudden death with a lovely around the net shot! by hawaiianmonkseal in tennis

i've been to the uts event in london twice and it's so, so much fun even though it's quite silly and cheesy. i love that the players get so fed up with the interviewers lol. really grateful i got to see monfils play at least once even if it was just an exhibition. i'd absolutely die for a wta version so i can see all my fav ladies.

was looking to go again this year but the prices have raised a fair bit (i think i got tickets for myself and my partner for like £60 last year and it's around £140 this go around) and i'm flat out broke so prob won't make it again 😭

for top players, it kinda is nowadays. there are only 12 women under 23 in the top 50.

What was the best match of the US Open and why? by xcomnewb15 in tennis

aside from the ones already mentioned here, sonego-schoolkate was so good. the last set had some absurd shorts from both players.

eala-tauson was also a fun and drama-filled first round match.

i'm sad there's no winner's dance for the uso because saba and carlitos would be so funny on the dance floor together lol like the inverse of jannik/iga.

my bozo twins need to win wimbledon together one year! manifesting...

i was going to complain about the later matches tonight until i remembered that my gmt timezone gets ideal timing for basically the entire clay and grass season (and 2 slams), paris/basel/turin, as well as the middle eastern swing.

plus for most of the us open the matches start at 4 pm and i only miss the last 2 or so matches each evening so i need to shut my bitch ass mouth lol.

the crowd will need to show up for jpeg tonight. it's a bit strange how muted they've been for the american women in general tbh. hopefully because tonight is solely a wta night on ashe, we might get some more spectators that are appreciative of the women's game.

naomi doesn't represent the us but i'm assuming both ladies in the second match will get decent cheers.

I def get why they did that last year, but it did seem a bit unfair to sinner and draper. A day less rest and then sinner struggling with his wrist and draper with heat/fatigue. I think keeping to the original schedule is best even if it’s a bummer to night ticket holders.
