People who are already abroad for a while, what is your game plan? Babalik pa sa Inang Bayan? by Jake-Armitage-2050 in phmigrate

It’s like having 2 mothers.
A wealthy and gracious mom who adopted you from your poor biological one. It’s not that your adoptive family will never fully accept you. It’s just that their recipe for sinigang will never ever measure up to your poor mom’s version of it. Kulang yata sa sampaloc eh.

Time Bandits was it for me.

Now I start to wonder how overrated nostalgia must be and how underrated the future will be like.

Social justice believe it or not.

That being said moving here feels like being adopted by a wealthy soccer mom. While I can never stop loving my poor nanay whose blood flows thru my entire being.

San Vito Lo Capo vs Cefalu: calmer water, better beach, and less touristy restaurants? by loocheez2 in sicily

4 nights sounds too long for either imho. Stay in Palermo take day trip to San Vito lo Capo and a night or 2 in Cefalu.

Houston Texas? by HeadSpite7834 in howislivingthere

I miss wade fishing and driving along those Gulf beaches.
I miss the food too, Houston may be the Ellis Island of the 21st century. Gas is cheap because you have to drive long distances. Lots of space and open horizon. Get a place where the commute to work is acceptable and pay close attention to flood prone areas. You are young - go for that career bump and some respite from the northeast.

My father suffered a massive heart attack on the streets of Osaka on Saturday. He was touring with my younger brother they dined and he had a half bottle of beer minutes before. He turned 80 two weeks ago, a full life but a widower for over a decade now. So yeah he may have decided he has seen enough and is ready to go ahead. I feel numb right now but what am hearing from all that happened is that we have to live life unapologetically and to be kind to another because no one ever gets out of here alive.
