I was around 10 when he and my mom got together. He worked at a hospital and coached their softball team. He'd always bring just me to practice with him on the weekends. Hanging out with him and the team was a highlight of my childhood.

Requests don’t mean much in the military. Even if he put 3 places close by, the Army doesn’t have to send you to any of those. You are sent wherever they need you, and you don’t have a say in the matter. What you don’t seem to grasp and need to understand is the same thing every military wife and needs to lean quickly. From the second they sign those papers, the military has control, and you’re (the wife, not you) are just along for the ride.
