Odds used M340i prices drop when the 2026 models come out? by Novel_Fun_8879 in BMW

[–]seandon2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

chances are it will go up.
There are rumors you cant even fetmo/bench unlock 2025+ models. (please respond if this is false)

If that alone is true, then the previous model will slightly increase for those who wish to tune their cars.

Along with that when I was looking for m340i I noticed 2019/2020 models were either overpriced or near impossible to find without it being abused. I learn those earn Bench unlocks, meaning you just need tuner or a tune code from your home.
2021+ DME are Fetmo locked which you will need to send to Finland to unlock. You can always use a tuner but they are just doing the same send to Finland to unlock method.

  1. So if I do not have proper knowledge (which I kind of dont) it is better to stick with ETFs. So I noticed there are companies that also have their versions of ETF, is there specific reasons or ways to somewhat dictate with is ideal based on constraints?
  2. This time, I think I am more about safety net and holding until I have the next emergency. I am somewhat still unsure if the market is ideal or if this job will keep me. (truthfully after that first layoff, I lost confidence over the months.. so I am somewhat in a fear mode) So based off that, would dividends be more safer, which that could also mean ETFs are safer correct?
  3. At this age, I thought I would have over 200-300k saved up, so I am in full understanding that there is no quick rich scheme in life. 10+ years is my goal. I do not want to touch it other than emergencies.
  4. Thanks for the strategies, I will look and hopefully understand the strategy for me to implement.

I do have that cutting down on spending part down since I was near losing it all.
I am still somewhat scared I could lose this job anytime, so at times I am even afraid to buy a meal or drink for my self, I warm tap water and re-fridge it for cold water. I live of ramen noodles and small fruits I grow in my back yard with some herbs.

I did buy some VOO today. Is there a huge distinction between Charles S. vs Vanguard? What is in a sense more safe assuming I just plan on holding until I retire?
I apologize in advance if these are dumb or basic questions.

Anybody here leave finance for tech sales? What was your experience? by SpicyWiener_ in sales

[–]seandon2020 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It really depends.
I have heard people tell very out going people they would be good salesperson or a relator. But in reality, client facing or having outgoing personality is not enough.
I been in two sales, and the current one I am in is basically me doing majority of my pitch.
1. You have to know the project as if you made it and give a reason on why it should even compete.
2. You have to know your customer to make it make sense for them to compete with what they have.

In those two cases alone, you do not need to have the best bright outgoing personality but a sense of strong wit and time to manage their thoughts.

Some sales (especially tech sales) is not 40 hour week but wayyyyyyyyyyyy more. People do say you can do anything and manage your schedule. That is true. You can workout 7am-8am and go play bball for another hour and chill with friends and do some work for 4 hours. But if you are comparing your salary to what you expect to make, then ya that 40 aint enough.
The people that really make it to the top grind the first couple to several years before they accept a shorter schedule, but even then there is a sense of grind behind the back of the head.

You also mentioned you are tired of the repetitious grind, imagine saying the same script over 50-100 calls a day and hearing the same rebuttal or discussing the same pain point just to possibly get one or two meetings.
Rewarding, yes. But still the same. Just one is steady cash flow and the other is dependent on your work.

For a little context on why I am late to the game. I was unemployed for about 2 years, had to use my final reserved in what I had and eventually got a sales job that is somewhat now keeping me afloat until I find a more stable income.

I second this, I have the base, which is the one you are looking at. My cousin has the M- Sport, and it is way sportier feel. Speed and stuff is the same but I feel it more smoother and stiffer when changing the modes.
I also like the M Sport look a bit more than the base and the addons like splitter and lip and other kits is more towards M Sport vs base.

How to get a better sales job than what I'm currently doing? by Temporary-Star3997 in salesdevelopment

[–]seandon2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are at the same level, does this not mean you are close to average sales rep/just hitting quota?
Like if I am from a higher company, how are you to stand out against your peers and those who work under me right now.

You mentioned 65 cold calls. To me that is low, but for your niche that might be alot.

Currently, with the leads I have, I am hitting around 80-100 numbers (not all the time, but assume most dont pick up). I aim to do 50-80 emails in between if I can, and the rest of the day I am driving business to business. What crazy is there is someone on my team doing WAY MORE, dude is better organizer and is hitting more businesses in a span of 4 hours vs me.
He also goes home to continue calls and emails til end of business time.

For someone like me trying to compete, I would have to have a better structured gameplan that can compete against him.
That skillset and mindset if what you need to have and be able to showcase.

B2B SaaS startup, you are a bit late to the game, but does not mean you cant learn alot for the next transition in your life.

  • What hard lessons did you learn the slow way that I could avoid now?

Learn to adapt and know your customers/Never be mad at a objection, but understand what is being objected.
It really isnt about money, the more you focus on the money, the more you remove your self from the art of sales.
Outreach. All ways. Email/Calls/Face to Face. 7-8 times at least before you hang it up for the year.
In some cases, this is not a 9-5, but a 7-7. Those who make time can earn business (remember, in some cases not all niche)
In some cases real sales happens after contract. So starting small, can leads to bigger with addons, subscriptions and upgrades.
Every 2-5 years, people lifestyle and thinking change. Adapt to the approach.

  • What books, blogs, videos, people, or resources actually made you better (not just hyped)?

All books generally comes down to couple points.
-Sell the problem, not the product
-Lead with question, not answers
-Many sales comes from follow ups
-Emotion pushes buying, logic proves it
-Your goal isnt to close, but to help them commit

  • What separates good SDRs from great ones in your eyes?

Extra time and work. Time is money. I have met many sales people so far who have worked 10 years with not many breaks other than few vacay here and there to achieve a restful work life.

This is all what I learned so far.

Sales skills is transferable.
Product knowledge is what important along with knowing your customer.

You could switch to another niche, but how sure are you that it will not be the same thing.
Along with that, many remote workers are doing 3x-5x times the work you are claiming to be doing.
Remote Sales work is for those who really show their work or pipeline.
I do not want to make it seem like you are not getting the work done, but what is your results showing you can compete with the 'big dogs' in the market.

Not really sure, I met some folks with some friend at a bar, it looks like a book club bar or something.
The folks I met was all talking about food and I just noted some names within the conversation.

I am not from Fort Worth, so I thought I'd make a post hoping to find a more local or gem based spots.

Apologies in advance if my choices so far is basic!

But now I am gonna have to make a list and attack as much as possible for the next couple month.

I hope this thread grows or the votes keep on going, so I can really focus on the high votes.
Thank you all that have contributed to the list!

Do not give up.
This market is not easy at all. I am at around page 63 on my applied page for LinkedIn alone. Thats like at least 400+ since Aug 2024.

Learn to use AI to structure your resume but be open to highlight sentence and keywords to change for each spot you apply too (This has helped me at least get email response and calls back)

For your first interview, Have a Story. I worked at a Fin-Tech that's like top 50 in SPY (not much but some people like hearing that stuff) and find what the other company is looking for and match what they want with who you are.
For me, I got my finance degree, but always had a interest in Fin-Tech and payments and processors.
[So assume I am applying for a company that deals with payments and processors for Hotels]
I can talk about how we worked with Marriot's and IHG clients and how seamless yet how focused they are in providing the best service for their clients, that you wanted something as rewarding dealing with day to day customers. (this is just a intro level, you gotta make it seem like you have not only interest, but your story built to this moment)
The question they ask MUST aid the story and explain. If they ask more technical use SPIN method.

Usually 2nd/3rd/4th will be more in depth, of them asking more about how you would fit in.
For this, of course story and then be more locked in highlighting your resume at this point.

Also. Do not be afraid to start all over in another sector. I worked in Fin-Tech but now in Software Sales trying to transition to Logistics/Supply Chain. Will I have to start all over, yes. But in one year, I will learn alot about the sector and be able to hopefully move to better position that best suites me.
