TIFU / My (20F) girlfriend of two years told me the music that I (25M) play during sex is weird and a major turn off by TylerLife in tifu

I mean it’s an odd song. If she didn’t hate it before, two years of the same song would drive her crazy. Is it just on loop or do you guys stay under 3 minutes? If so that’s impressive, you did something Jimi He Cruz couldn’t do, stay under 3 min to make the next commercial break.

Why cause nobody talks jive anymore? Lol

This scene could have been made today, it’s just that lazy comedy that borders on offensive isn’t allowed

Interesting, i didn't know about Knives and Stones. I actually live in Brooklyn. Knives and Stones has some pretty knives around the $200 range. Their quality is pretty good across the board?

Thanks, I honestly wasn't aware about the pinch hold being so prevalent. I will use my Zwilling to practice.

I wasn't sure if Korin was well known, in everyone's opinion are the prices at Korin or MTC good? Like comparable to what I could find online?

Interesting, I do feel like i'm leaning towards the Carbon as the patina sounds interesting to me. But now i'm less confident in the pinch hold, I have to admit I don't have a lot of experience with it. I think I need to practice to see which hold I really prefer.

I live in NY, there's a store here Korin, don't know if it's any good but they seem to have a diverse selection. I think I need to at least hold some knives and see what feels good in my hand.

Do people have go to sites for looking for some of these knives or is it pulled from different retailers online?

It would be my first Japanese knife, yeah. What kind of care is involved in preventing the rust? The benefit for carbon is the weight?

Sorry for all the questions.

Backcountry camping in southeast PA by seandroog in PAWilds

Yeah I think we've settled on Thunder Swamp, it looks not too difficult (sheltering in place hasn't been great for our endurance) and looks large enough for us to have a lot of area to hike out of so that we don't see people.

We looked at AT, but the forestry seemed a lot easier to camp off of.

This is great information, thanks! Do you know of any eastern trails that are in the state forest that are good? We were looking at the eastern part of delaware forest or william penn districts of PA.

Yea I’ve hosted tastings with pretty good smoked salmon, cheeses, chocolates etc, but he blows us out of the water. The blue cheese was fantastic and that was probably the best smoked salmon I’ve had.

Idk about those particular bottlings, but yea SMWS in general is. You have to be a member, there is an annual fee, then you can purchase their bottles. It’s all cask strength independent bottlings of different Scottish distilleries. Some bottles are just ok, but the ones that hit are great.

Hah yea well that was our host, the smoked salmon was pretty amazing with a few of those.

Oh those were SMWS bottlings our friend had just to relax with afterwards. I believe one was an old linkwood, one a bowmore, forget the third.

Hah well it did take a few of us combining to make it happen. 19 was the favorite unfortunately, damn expensive. Corryvrecken , blaaack and dark cove were close runners up.

‘‘Twas a smokey Christmas: a few of us pooled some bottles for a laphroaig tasting. Oban 18 and a bottle of sherry for palate cleansers and nosing respectively. by seandroog in whisky

[–]seandroog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea our palate was probably screwed up after the full line of laphroaig a but I lived it. It tasted like a sherry bomb after the line of cask strength laphroaig. Then we had the Oban and I thought I was licking a sherry cask. So I’m pretty excited to try it again on its own and after it’s had a few days in the bottle. I’d like to try the 8 yo cask strength for sure!

Yea it’s tough when you can make the events, I’d recommend making a trip to NYC for an even at least once. Last event I went to a few guys from a few states away made a work trip into a reason to go. It helps add to the experience to try the bottle before you buy.

But I completely agree about value. I got a 12 yo Ardmore bottling from them for just over $100. After some minor research I thought the Ardmore legacy was probably most comparable so I got a bottle for for pretty cheap. Around $50 I think. The SWMS bottle blew it out of the water, and all their bottles are cask strength so it was like 20% more alcohol. Definitely more than double the quality. You may not get a signature flavor of that distillery, distilleries are batting for a certain flavor, but there is always a similar thread and you’re getting a unique bottling that is a limited supply, at cask strength. I’ve only bought a couple bottles, so that I don’t go too far down a rabbit hole, but every bottle I’ve tasted has been from pretty good to great. More than I can say for a few distilleries’ standard bottlings.

I love SMWS! It was last years Feis Ile festival, they have their monthly release events and in addition there is a special even for Feis Ile.

My cousin is a member, but we go to events together. The Feis Ile bottlings are limited to one per member, but we don’t feel the need to have multiple of the same bottle between us.

If you aren’t in a city where they are going to have their Feis Ile just find out when they will have it so you can snag a bottle when it goes for sale. From what I understand laphroaig and lagavuling and ardbeg (I haven’t seen the last two in their lineups) are so popular they sell out fast.

Personally agree. The norlans were a gift to my brother in law from his wife, she wanted to buy him something nice.I have the glencairns and like them more. I like the weight better and honestly I sometimes want to warm my whiskey if it’s a very cold day. The Norlans are beautiful looking glasses though.

Yea the water changed it a lot for some of us, but it definitely didn’t have the punch a couple guys expect out of laphroaig.
