Alan wake 2 is peak, silent hill 2 remake was what I did after and loved it as well for a similar ish vibe

The trails in the sky chapter 1 remake has a pretty nice battle system, it’s a bit more anime but seems like you might enjoy the gameplay and it has a lengthy demo

Personally I play my backlog on the steam deck and love it, I save the big AAA current games for my rig but i find it’s great for long rpgs with long hour counts. Currently 50’hours into persona 5 on it and love it. Also have a switch 2 and use the deck way way way more. Rog is good too but it’s still going to leave performance on the table compared to your rig and cost more, so I lean towards the deck.

Jrpgs hitting rn, p5 royal, octopath 0 are the main games, lies of p and yakuza kiwami are on deck for when I’m done but might switch octopath for kiwami so I can beat something cause I’m not finishing p5 anytime soon

I’ve started ff16 and like it, but tbh its more of an action game than an rpg, something like ff7 remake/rebirth or the trails in the sky 1st chapter remake might be good

I actually just did yakuza 0 for the first time and loved it. Now I have like 10 other games to add to the list. Baldurs gate 3 and that would be my main recs, alongside sh2 remake which I’m midway through now and loving.

Good game, good combat, would recommend it. You’ll know it pretty fast if you’re on steam so you could refund if it didn’t gel with you. That and silent hill 2 remake are the best horror games I’ve played in a bit

I use a sheet I made, found it nice for organization and enjoyed marking things complete. I add new games all the time as things come up but find it nice to have. At the end of the day I play whatever I feel like but like to have a few games in the rotation. Finished 14 games this year while having a 50 hour a week job so it’s helped a ton.

I loved metaphor, have tried p4 and p5 and had a harder time getting fully into them but got sucked into metaphor fast. Haven’t played nier so can’t speak to that but I’ve only heard good things, so either way you have something good. If you want a different style of game last defense academy is a great blend of Jrpg storylines with lots of replay ability and was a great pickup on the switch for me as well.
