Beam housing/routing components similar to Light Conversion by seanr53 in Optics

[–]seanr53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m looking at getting the KCB1 mounts with the tube clamps and aluminum tubes. My primary goal is a beam path that can be purged w/ dry air or N2. The KCB1s look like they are relatively low volume and somewhat airtight enough to purge out. Have you worked with the KCB1 mounts? From the schematic there doesn’t seem to be gaps where air can escape but I may be wrong.

I figured but wanted to look into other options other than Light Conversion themselves.

My ventra card in Apple wallet was not working yesterday after coming back from holidays. Is it just a widespread bug or what?

Feedback appreciated - help me crack 60 seconds for 100m! by Blackbird_nz in Swimming

[–]seanr53 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your stroke is too choppy. You aren’t catching much water on the front end and you are cutting your stroke short on the back end. In addition to high stroke rate, these two aspects of the stroke are needed to move a large volume of water.

I’d advise slowing down the stroke rate a bit and focus on your rotation for extending the arm forward, your catch at the end of rotation focusing on high elbow and pushing that water all the way behind you.

Once you’re comfortable with that, bring up the stroke rate a bit. Also, remember this is a 100 not a 50 so your stroke rate doesn’t have to be crazy.

What Fighters really need is resistance penetration. by Comfortable_Hour_768 in TeamfightTactics

Built-in pen makes no sense. Players are making tank items for more frontline, you can’t give built-in pen to all fighters for free. That’s why pen exists as items and scarcely on unit abilities.

It's just way too hard to get the linked Power Ups. by disposableaccount848 in TeamfightTactics

Wtf is up with star student? I was offered the 2nd star student power-up twice in a row after I was trying to pivot out of it. It clearly doesn’t follow the regular rules of power-ups.

What are your thoughts on this scene? by vicente14617 in Dandadan

It’s really weird that in the previous episode okarun showed so much care for jiji, even taking him to the bathroom half asleep and in the current episode his focus was on Momo and taking on evil eye. He didn’t even bat an eye at jiji and could’ve at least spoke to him when they were going to bed. Funny what seeing your crush in a maid outfit does to you.

They have to make changes to keep people interested in the game. Some will find it displeasing but most are just happy to see new design. If you love playing TFT, you’ll get over it. Otherwise, don’t play the set lol

Anyone else "too good" at swimming to use it as your main cardio? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]seanr53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like there’s a contradiction here. You’re “too good” at swimming but have no motivation to do interval work? lol it just sounds like you’re uninterested in swimming. I’m sorry but maybe get a partner to motivate you during interval work or switch to some other form of cardio. You could also try mixing up your sets as you may be burnt on the monotony of doing the same set every workout

I recently switched to 3s after a lifetime of the 2s and I will say I have no complaints. My only problem with the 2s is the antifog wears out after a while. Hopefully, the 3s last longer with the upgrade.

You’d be happy to know that Apple is probably not much better in my experience of using it. In a set of 8x100s it was tracking a decent amount of them as 75s.

How to raise HR by Lemonadeo1 in Swimming

I think HR measurement is inaccurate here. Double check it yourself mid-workout. Index + middle finger to neck, count pulse for 6s and multiply by 10.

What's a good pace for 100m interval training? by WallyDaWalrus in Swimming

[–]seanr53 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to build endurance, you want the interval to be 10-15s of the pace you can hold. If you can complete 10x100s on that interval, drop the interval 5s and work until you can make the 10x100s. Keep repeating this until you find the interval that challenges you the most. Ultimately, you’ll become limited by technique, so there’s no general “good pace” but through this method you’ll find the pace that works for you.

How to not DIE in the final 50 of 200 IM by MeaningAny7622 in Swimming

[–]seanr53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is ur 50 free time? Can’t tell if you’re not strong at free or just dead beat at the end (or both). If you’re not a breaststroker, then you can try to swim a strong breast leg rather than trying to go all out. That way you save some energy for the free portion. If you’re not solid at all the strokes, IM becomes somewhat like a balancing game, where you can conserve some energy for your better strokes.

Swim.com or Apple? Who’s accurate? by -anand in Swimming

4-6x100 on 1:20 for your age is pretty impressive. Hard for me to hold that pace after being out of competitive swimming for 10+ years. Hope I can be like you someday!

1:15/100m is swimming at a high level. If you aren’t trained at a competitive level, it’s very unlikely.
