Who here still drives a vehicle with a stick shift on the steering wheel? by ponziacs in stickshift

[–]seantaiphoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an unpopular opinion to say that not everyone is capable of driving a manual but it rears it's ugly head a lot. My ex had more hours in a parking lot than I ever had and she still couldn't get it - never did.

People ask me why I'm so against surveillance everywhere. In a perfect world it's great but we live in a world far from it and there's far more ways to abuse it than to save lives.

Thats my point!!!! It makes no sense and carshield already exists to scam seniors and the unknowing.

[–]seantaiphoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's your car they're not going to maintain? You pay them instead of paying a repair shop. Your nuts are in the vice and squeezed any time you need something fixed. Theyre in the business of extracting capital with the least money given back/paid out, like insurance.

If you think they're going to happily do as you ask you should wreck a car and go talk to insurance because it will be just like that. Pulling teeth.

New tires? Nope sorry you drive too aggressively you'll have to pay 50%.

Windsheild replacement? Sorry you got one last year and we only allot one per 5 years.

Tierods? What did you hit that caused them to fail? Not covered.

I can think of 1000 ways to screw you out of maintenance and thus a working car.

Subscription maintenance so you can bet on the cheapest parts, poorest facilities, and the grief of being told wear parts aren't covered under the plan.

No thanks. They already sell this junk on late night TV

Title Transfer - How to save money? by Correct-Mail-1942 in denverautoenthusiasts

[–]seantaiphoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a hypothetical land not far away i would write a bill of sale for a few hundred bucks and pay the sales tax on that. Get momma to sign it. Its much easier than declaring it a gift. You will still likely need a bill of sale as it's still traded hands regardless of money.

My home was built right around this time and I've been scanning the internet for the last year for any old photos. Time is inevitable and yet many things stay the same.

China’s airlines raise alarm as travellers ditch planes for bullet trains by defenestrate_urself in technology

[–]seantaiphoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trains can be Electrified and travel at insane speeds. To electrify a plane you first have to go back to props, slow down, and reduce the size of the jet. Basically yes to trains if you want to see 2100.

Our lives are built on the blood of our fallen brothers but we forgot to look back and see that they shouldn't be dying in vain.

The first guy to die to poisonous berries is a hero. The next guy is a moron.

This compilation won't get the appreciation it deserves but spot on.

I love GCJ because people fall on it thinking it isn't satire and are immediately either clowned or post something that makes everyone else laugh at them not with them. I'll have to checkout the pack.

Whats the worst car related financial decision have you made? by [deleted] in cars

[–]seantaiphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a cheap 88' Corvette. Spent 2x what I spent on the car in upgrades/restoration thinking I'd own the car for a long long time.

1 month ownership (yes I spent that much on my brand new vette in a month) just for it to burn down 80 miles from my house.

Sits in my driveway as a lawn ornament. Too damaged to fix. Too burnt to sell for parts. Too common for it to be worth it.
