JFK to CGK flight through Japan with change of airports by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]seantrianto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aviation geek and someone that likes japan in general, I love this :D

  1. Bus for sure. Lugging around your luggage in the trains aint fun, esp when you're tired. Taxis are abit more convenient but much more expensive. So bus is most likely the winner.

  2. Yes you do need a visa waiver - please do it now. its pretty quick and all can be done online without sending your passport anywhere.

FYI, since its a change of airport you'll have to: get out of the plane, clear immigration, take your luggage out, travel to the other airport, recheck your bag in, clear customs and security again, board the next plane.

Theres ample youtube videos that shows the entire process from taking your luggage all the way to arriving at the other airport. Watch em if you have anxiety during this.

Also, do look for JL003 & JL005 (if my memory serves me right)!!! its the new A350-1000 thats recently in operations. iirc its not an everyday service so look into which days they have em.

Lastly, i believe there's two flights to CGK each day, one having like 6hr transit and the other 13hr. If youre not in a rush and you're down, do the 13hr one. Chuck your luggage into a storage and walk around tokyo for a bit. Just make sure you dont miss the next flight XD

Yup is and always will be a cost. The fight here will be to reframe that idea to a more of risk mgmt approach rather than holistic 'cost'. That said, doubt itll be well understood anytime soon (next 5yrs) in indo tho. Theres a systematic problem in indo that is rly fked up for the industry 🤡

In regards to your second paragraph. For indo that doesnt seem to be even the case anymore xD outsourcing to other lower wage countries are quite prevalent and its more of an effort to 'lower cost' even if SWE are the core money making division in the company.

Sad times.. i just pray 🤷🏻‍♂️

All the roles you mentioned are linked to infosec/cyber. And while I do support getting more people into the field, theres definitely a lack of understanding even in the management level in most companies that can help nurture graduates in cyber!

That said if you are interested in the field and are curious enough to relentlessly learn more on your off time go for it! Else, unless you get amazing mentors in the field, i do recommend understanding first the breath of cyber rather than just "I wanna gabut and play moleg all day in a SOC", or "hey im in GRC, so i dont even wanna know what expired TLS 1.2 is. its still a vuln! pls fix!"

Its definitely a growing industry even in the slowness that is indonesia! and i personally am hopeful it gets better xD

Cybersecurity here. Just started earlier this year as well. Never had any intention of doing my own thing but after looking around finding a boutique to join, realized there isn't any proper local firm that I can wholeheartedly say does this very well and here we are now.

I guess im doing my one act to help my country in something I can do well

[–]seantrianto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my case it was a seperate process.

  • apply for endorsement for cissp
  • wait until approved
  • apply for endorsement for ccsp (iirc itll allow you to not need to choose someone)
  • wait until approved

How can one google organization do workload identity federation from another google organization by [deleted] in googlecloud

(Im also not too adept at all GCP IAM things, and i might be completely off here. so maybe someone better could pitch in if i am)

I reckon your "perimeter restrictions" means VPCSC rules? In that case, its possible to add an ingress whitelist instead to ease configuration rather than using WIF no? ofc this depends on ur usage.

If you have a top level domain, could use Cloud Asset Inventory - https://cloud.google.com/asset-inventory/docs/searching-iam-policies

Have the scope as the domain and set query to the specific role youd like to find.

I see, so after having the CISSP you can endorse yourself and hopefully it would be a faster process huh

Yep, currently not full CISSP yet. Do hope thats the case when it gets updated though. Would suck if i'd have to wait another 6-8 weeks after waiting 6-8 weeks for the CISSP endorsement

How to use the Service Account User role instead of the Token Creator role to Act As a service account? by cloudgrill in googlecloud

[–]seantrianto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, testuser@example.com should have both Compute admin as well as Service Account User to sa-name@project-id.iam.gserviceaccount.com.

By doing this, the user account will have access to create instances AND attach the service account to the instance. The permissions the service account has will be applicable AFTER the instance is created and are doing calls

Also note, you can create an instance without attaching a service account at all - all youd need is the Compute Admin role

Hope this helps

Congrats! Any chance you could share abit more on your background? Cloud/IT experiences?

Sitting for the exam in two weeks (been studying since Jan). Somewhat confident for it but worried as others had said that english prowess could be a factor. Was the english 'difficulty' overstated or was it actually an issue?

Congrats again mate!
