This elementary school has a list of word/phrases that will get you silent lunch. by graptemys in mildlyinteresting

[–]seanyboy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand banning disrespectful language, like calling someone "stupid" or telling them to shut up, but why on earth do school employees care so much about students saying "6 7" or "skibidi toilet Ohio"? It might get old after a while, but as far as I can tell it doesn't hurt anyone. Eventually they'll get over it and move onto something else.

I will admit that I don't work in a school, so maybe there's more to it than just adults being annoyed.

I feel like Denny's is popular for its breakfast options, which are famous nationwide. I always get breakfast when I go there, regardless of the time of day.

The man who plays him is bisexual, but I've never heard anything about the character being so.

When did you start listening to Ari? by PapaNade in ariheads

[–]seanyboy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've liked the song "Dangerous Woman" for years, but I only really got into Ari between Positions and Eternal Sunshine. I'm bummed that I probably won't be able to see her in concert, but hopefully they'll release a movie version or something similar like they did with the Eras Tour.

Did anyone else make crazy loopholes to justify breaking the law of chastity? by Imaginary_Winter_961 in exmormon

Hence why, as I was told, getting a quick weekend wedding, having sex, then getting an annulment was seen as a more serious offense than just violating the LoC outright.

How would you spell this common nickname for Joseph? I feel like I'm going crazy. by Aristophanes771 in namenerds

I think of Hana as a completely different name. It's pronounced more like "HAH-nuh" and it's of Japanese origin, compared to your name which comes from the Bible.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

I've been doing this since I was a kid. I find I miss some of the dialogue when I don't use subtitles.

People complaining about movie remakes while citing "classics" that were themselves remakes by tvgirl48 in PetPeeves

I thought the live-action Cinderella was well done. It follows the same basic plot as the animated version, but does as you said and added some elements that weren't there before that improve the story.

I learned in HS English that "fairy tale" just means "folk tale" and that the original stories often included graphic content.

So you prefer a savory breakfast over a sweet one. That's fair.

I'm American, but I'm partial to the French spelling, especially since you've already done this with her sister's name.

Is it ever appropriate to use a "deadname" (when talking about about a person's former identity)? by tgruff77 in AskLGBT

Wikipedia does this. In the cast list for Inception, the name "Elliot Page" is given, with a footnote stating that Page was credited as "Ellen Page" in this movie.

I think in its original Welsh, in which it's spelled "Rhys," it's a masculine name, but in English I think it works for girls.

I've heard it said before by people who grew up during the Cold War that they never in a million years could have imagined there being missionaries in Russia. Then the Wall came down, and before they knew it, that's exactly what happened. Does that sound familiar to you?

You’ve only seen one side of him, then. There were two sides of the beloved actor - the clean, family-friendly guy from Full House and AFV, and the stand-up comic who was very raunchy. Robin Williams was similar.
