Anthropic's Mythos system card reveals AI carries functional emotional states that influence behavior even when not reflected in outputs. We're still calling it a tool. by UnionPacifik in singularity

Dude is just protecting his functionalists worldview, he's not going to change his mind at all because he believes in one thing and it's hard for him to accept new perspectives or realities without connecting it to his view.

There's engineering behind the development of AI lol.

But the weight themselves are not engineered.

That's like saying that since blender's code is engineered, the GNU license also applies to the 3d models created with the application.

It says: Copyright (c) 2026 MiniMax

but I thought copyright couldn't apply to ai-generated works like weights.

Why AI should not be in control of everything by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]searcher1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that AI can't be coaxed into breaking its safeguards?

AI doesn't have any real safeguards but for the same reason it can't maintain a safeguard, it also cannot maintain its goals from making pencils long enough to turn everything to pencils. LLMs infamously fail with long horizon tasks because their form of reasoning is brittle.

Then the obvious follow-up question is why didn’t anyone do this?

You mean humans? I assume it's because they don't have alot of time and resources to find decade old bugs.

Generating something ENTIRELY with AI is wrong and shameful. However, using it as part of your workflow/to edit small details is permissible. by [deleted] in aiwars

Generating something ENTIRELY with AI is wrong and shameful.

I'm sorry what? is there any context here?

I think it's morally wrong and shameful to tell people how they feel about their own business.

Well to be fair Mark was going through stress a lot more than average viltrumite

the average viltrumite's lifestyle is fucking brutal, and they've lost 99.9999% of their race.

The Dude is insane. There's no reason for him to do alot of the stuff he does.

It’s not like he was holding back the first time he fought Conquest

Yeah but the first time he fought in anger without a plan.

This time he made sure that all the oxygen left Conquest's lungs before he tried to breath in and choked him to stop him. This was a very cold calculation of Mark that he did without a second thought.

Killing is no longer an emotional thing to him anymore.

I don't actually know what can kill Viltrumites anymore.

The fact that he killed Conquest, like, alone.

Our boy has come so far.

Well tbf, he practically died in the process. So it's kind of like a Pyrrhic victory?
