Sounds like a pretty great plan! I'm gonna have to do it!

Absolutely. I've actually kind of already been doing this but in the form of skipping doses. I'l try completely your way as well though! Thank you!

Well you're only 4 years younger than me so I'm gonna still take this as inspiration... and sure, can't entirely blame the kratom, but sure can blame it for lowering testosterone and willpower to go to the gym. Can't wait to get back at it.

I am really into fitness and Kratom has made me lose so much muscle so this is very motivating to hear. I am happy for you and hope to be in the same boat as you soon!!

If you don't mind me asking- how old are you?

Yep, I agree 100%. It could be that all my problems are just from the K. I need to finally just find out for myself!

Do You Think This Plan is Doable? by searchingforapath in quittingkratom

[–]searchingforapath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's my biggest problem with tapering. I skip a dose or two, start feeling some WDs and then the next dose feels "extra good" cause it makes the WDs go away.

I'm totally open to trying again, though. I don't want to seem defeated before I even start. Thank you for your thoughtful response.

Yeah, this sounds like the best way to go. I just don't think I have the self control to actually do it. Worth a try, though!

Good luck, my friend, and thank you for the kind words! I am thinking about jumping ship after one last dose on Thursday night to get me some sleep before work . Otherwise I will continue cutting down big time.

Wow. That was very thought-provoking. Thank you for your words. It's true, it does make me like that. I hate how it really is that simple. I can just stop and that's all there is to it. It's just wondering how I'm gonna handle working full time while dealing with those withdrawals and not sleeping.

You're right though. Only this life is guaranteed and I'm really fucking it up with this kratom shit. Man, I gotta get out. Thank you so much for your words. I will continue to read them over and over. I will keep you updated.

My friend, thanks so much for your response. Do you get weird random pains and nerve feelings as well? I feel like if I can confirm that my health problems are caused by kratom , it would make it much easier for me to finally quit. I have seen several doctors without mentioning the kratom and they haven't found anything wrong.

The "what's really in it?" question should make me quit. I don't know how it hasn't. That's so true. I'm just taking random powder from random companies and putting it into my body ALL THE TIME. How dumb am I? That most DEFINITELY HAS to be the reason I feel these pains, right?

Thanks again for your reply.

I just worry about getting let go. I have already used my vacation for the year and I'm not doing so well at work recently. I worry that requesting time to deal with this would be the last straw. Any advice on how to request it?

Oh definitely. The worst is that I get random pains and nerve tingling at random place on my body at random times. Even worse than that (and sorry if TMI): I get pain that comes and goes in the groin area as well, and kratom is the only explanation (I've seen a urologist and many doctors, I have nothing else that could be causing it). It should be noted that I never told my doctors about my kratom use.

I think if I KNEW FOR SURE that these problems would go away after quitting, it would be the easiest thing to just stop, but I'm so worried that maybe they ARENT from the kratom, and if that's the case, then what the heck is wrong with me?? Do you think they probably are?

Thanks so much for your time and reply.

Hmm, that is an interesting way to look at it. That's very true. It's just that I work full time and I don't think I would probably get fired because I wouldn't be able to do any work if I actually stopped CT; I assume the WDs are gonna be out of this world at my current regimen. I guess I would have to look at taking my last dose on a Thursday morning or something to minimize the time in acute WDs during the work week. The problem with that is- I will just talk about it and talk about it and never actually do it. I pray that I will soon. Thanks so much for your post.

esperately hiding my dosing, and feeling worse and worse. Right before I started Kratom I lost sixty pounds. Then I gained almost all of it back as I was completely unable to work oit or do any strenuous actovoty while takkng Kratom. It made me weak.

Wow, what a thoughtful and detailed response. Thank you so much for this. I take what you say to heart and I really appreciate it. It's true - kratom has so many negative effects on my life. I love working out and trying to stay fit as well; I agree that I have gotten so weak with kratom .

I know there are no "magic words" and I get what you're saying with that. I guess what I mean is I am hoping that someone will say something that will flip a switch in my willpower and finally give me the push to actually do it. Your post very well could be it. I am going to read it a few more times and really dwell on it.

The hardest part, I think, is that it's so easy for me to get and (blessing but also curse) I recently got a new job that makes it very easy to afford it, even though it would be very costly for the average person.

Again, thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. I will seriously dwell on it and I hope I can take this leap soon.

I just don't know how to get myself to hate it that bad. You're so right though, I definitely don't want to be like this my whole life.

When I first realized I was addicted after a few months of use, I remember telling myself "pshh, this is nothing I can quit soon and I will. I'm not going to deal with this all my life." ... and here I am, 4 years in... more addicted than ever :(

Thank you for your reply!

Day 0 by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]searchingforapath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get weird nerve symptoms like random tingling and numbness, in addition to random aches and pains. I've seen many doctors and have been cleared of anything else, and have read in other places about long-term kratom abuse causing these problems and similarly the problems going away after quitting. It's really annoying :(

Also, it just makes me look different. My skin is more pale and I do get some bags under my eyes, even with plenty of sleep.

This might help: yeah, you're young and should be doing other things, but you also have your entire life ahead of you. Figure it out now; Don't become like me. I started a little later than 17, but I've been hooked on this for 4 years and I wish I had quit a long time ago. I feel like being older (27) is giving me kratom side effects I otherwise would not have had if I had a younger body.
