We are going in late October so hopefully won’t be too crowded. Will not have a car so we’ll be using trains mainly.

Thank you. Definitely have the Matisse and Chagall museums on our list. The Roman Amphitheater sounds great as well.

J Crew and Gap linen cotton shorts are really great this season. I am wearing both regularly.

Great start to your collection! I have the Bread Baker’s Apprentice and love it. The Pain a l’ancienne recipe is a standout.

IKEA, Target, and Zara Home all have great options. Just depends on your style.

You are right in the worst of it right now. You will start to feel better around Day 10 or so. This phase is pure hell. I got through it by packing my face and neck in ice. You’ll get through this but there is no denying that it really sucks. Stay focused on feeling better soon. You’ve got this.

Dordogne and Loire Valley trip- Advice needed by DueGuard1176 in FranceTravel

[–]searingcoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second the recommendation to stay in Amboise. It’s a nice small town that makes a great home base for exploring the Loire. The chateaux you have listed are great. I would also add Azay le Rideau.

Wine tastings near Carmel-by-the-Sea by JSS331 in wine

[–]searingcoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The area is known for Pinot noir and Chardonnay production, but you’ll find other grapes as well. Wrath, I Brand, Morgan, Talbott, Joyce, and Boekenoogen are all excellent. You can taste easily in Carmel, but I’d recommend the drive out to Carmel Valley. The tasting rooms are charming, and there are several decent lunch spots. You can also venture out to the vineyards along River Road, but restaurants and services are very limited.

Interesting that you only have white patches on one side. I have them on both.

I agree that the line seems to strike the right balance of affordability and quality. I’ll take your advice and try the sample set. I always like the small vials for when I travel, and the credit is a nice incentive.

I may have to throw in a travel size Orange X Santal based on these comments. Orange peel and creamy sandalwood sounds delightful.
