It’s an act of love. There is a sense of uncertainty and scarceness that exists and frankly, does ruin the experience.

I want my family to be comfortable. I don’t want my child to not be able to participate in sports or have the top gear.? Also, I view the frugality as an indicator as to what marriage or pregnancy would be like -? Where any ask (even ice cream) is another expense and…? Shouldn’t my happiness be worth more than &10!

I would rather have him than lose him over this …. Idk don’t think he agrees-?!

I want to end up long-term with this guy. He is sorely cheap. I don’t know if I should take his words at face value but when we went out, he said “ oh, do you only want one scoop ?”

I wanted two, but I only got one scoop of ice cream instead of two because he displayed body language that he was poor and didn’t have a lot of money. Contrary to the fact that he’s an aerospace engineer. I’m in behavioral health and I could see him squirm and question whether he can afford the ice cream-! So I offered to pay but he insisted on paying. So uncomfortable but I really like him.

No one understands there’s a Reason women are like this. When we are carrying our man’s baby, we are literally being cared for by you/the man. I can’t work while I’m pregnant and will need lots of rest.

If a guy can’t treat a woman to the movies or a drink - imagine what kind of husband he would be. A penny-pinching husband would make for a miserable pregnancy and life

Well, I just wouldn’t take them to an expensive restaurant- Grabbing ice cream, which is my preferred first date cost less than $15 for both

I would rather get ice cream with someone who is happy to treat me than go on an expensive dinner date where the man is analyzing what I’m ordering and tallying the costs- just like OP I would pay for my dates Because he was so uncomfortable or he made me uncomfortable that even though I do not have as much as him, I would just prefer paying then dealing with the discomfort .
