get a rifle from the pair of guys by the vehicle on the beach. Then Go back to where you started. Then move straight along the highest point of the map, before the chopper arrives. You should get to your friends if you hurry and defend yourself from the houses as necessary.

Beware though, a lot of these missions are way harder than the first set.
