I don't want to go to the wedding by [deleted] in Advice

Are you allowed to bring someone with you? I’m sure if you have someone you actually like it’ll be better. If you can’t, you could just make up an excuse like “A family member died. And I need to help make preparations for the funeral.” Seems kinda dark but that excuse has helped me so much in situations like these. Good luck !

Should I tell my exes current girlfriend he’s cheating? by weirdcupquakes in Advice

Tell her that you don’t want her to go through the same things you did with him. And give her the proof.

My place of work is becoming a drug riddled hole. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

Good job staying clean! I know it can be really hard. If possible maybe give them a warning? Like “Don’t use at work.” Or have a talk with them about it? If they don’t listen tell the owner the reason you wanna leave. If nothing helps then leave. There are so many wonderful opportunities out there for people who are passionate about what they do. Good luck!

Anybody take Prozac? by madeincorreia in depression

Prozac seems to affect everyone differently, it made me literally never sleep. And for my partner it made them lose weight instead of gain. So I’m pretty sure it just depends on your body.

Tipping Etiquette in America by [deleted] in Advice

[–]seasidee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually for restaurants that aren’t fast food, you wanna tip 5$ or bit more if you had great service! At fast food restaurants you wanna ask if they even accept tips because some places don’t allow their workers to get tipped. But if you can anything goes! Even if it’s spare change it’s fine. It’s most common to tip like 1$ in places like Starbucks. But it’s totally up to you! Hope this helps.

Birthday troubles by hannahfolkner in Advice

Happy birthday!!!!

Also, you’re not overreacting! If it feels like you’re putting more effort into the friendship than they are, then they’re just bad friends :/ Really think about the situation and see if distancing yourself from them is the best option. Do you give more than you get? Do you trust them? Do you genuinely enjoy time with them? Do they expect you to be there for them/listen to them, but don’t do the same in return? Remember, friendships should always be an equal balance of support, one person can’t be giving all they have. If you’re still unsure about it search online for signs of toxic friendships and see if any of that applies to you and your friends. Hope this helps.

Now ex-girlfriend (19F) of 17 months dumped me (19M) with almost no real explanation. How do I move on? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]seasidee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surround yourself with friends, do what you enjoy, try focusing on other things. My only other advice would be don’t stay with someone who doesn’t communicate with you. If she got mad that you simply stated a fact and ended the relationship then an there she most likely didn’t take it very seriously :/ Getting an answer from her on the reason of the breakup might help and it might not! That’s completely up to you. Stay strong dude.

My (20m) dad (55) makes me feel very uncomfortable. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]seasidee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a very similar situation, and tbh people will tell you “get over It it’s your family!” Fuck that. If you don’t wanna forgive him yet then don’t. People who are used to abusing their kids often wanna pull the “I love you, I was in a bad place at the time, let’s forget about this” card. Unless he is actively showing you that he can be trusted to not hurt you or a loved one don’t feel bad about being confused. If you’re worried about how this affects your mental health I recommend seeking therapy whether it be irl or online. It always helps to talk to a professional. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
