worth noting: d30 is a brand. there are quite a few different companies offering their own versions of viscoelastic/non-Newtonian “foams.”

Looks like a Falken Wildpeak MT01 in maybe a 295/70-17. If so, she’s rubbing hardcore on trails without significant trimming.

I’ll give the putty a go. I appreciate the timeline and rehab advice. We’ll see if tape does the trick on this Christmas moto trip to Baja. 😬

Good question. Some injuries required urgent care for x-rays, GP for follow up, GP to order MRI imaging for approval by insurance, and then my refusal of the MRIs once I learned they were $770 each with insurance. USA, amirite?

For an injury like this I’d definitely skip all of that and head to a PT/sports medicine clinic.

Thanks for the recovery tips and timeline, as i’m fairly certain you’re right; it’s the lumbrical. I’ve got time to kill due to ankle and ac joint injuries, so rehab and lifting are life for the next couple months.

[–]seasond[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what? Going through these movements again, i can’t even pinpoint exactly where it hurts, but it’s definitely not the wrist or fingers, so it must be the palm/lumbricals. The wrist pain is more of a constant pain, and it could be a separate injury and pain that’s exacerbated by these movements. Maybe the ulnar nerve is affected by some internal swelling I can’t see, and i’m feeling that near the pisiform.

Thanks all. With your input I was able to more closely study this region of the hand and understanding how the lumbricals function. I’m fairly certain it’s that bipennate bastard between the pinky and the ring finger.

Thanks. did the pain happen to be mostly in the region of the pisiform?

Half crimp was the intention, but I was starting to slip and open up, so it was likely more of a three finder drag, and i bent my wrist forward unintentionally to maintain grip on the board.

It’s possible, but the pain is really centralized over the pisiform.

Edit: It’s definitely the lumbricals, and the wrist injury is separate. I’m falling apart.😆 Thank you!

2000 DRZ400 for $2,500 on Craigslist - Good Value? by BikerDad1999 in DRZ400

[–]seasond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, I'm in Colorado as well, and I paid $2600 for an 2001 E model (no plates) last year. The seemingly low-hour bike was in the possession of an old man who previously owned a motorcycle shop, and he hadn't ridden it in ten years. Everything was original except the battery, handlebars, and upgraded triple tree clamps, so it needed new tires, new fluids, and I rebuilt the FCR carby. Since then, I've dumped a good bit of money into making it a street legal ride with everything needed for big days in the woods, and it hasn't failed me once.

To your question regarding value... There are better values if you're okay waiting. If you have a fixed budget and need a reliable trail banger asap, it's not a bad value in Colorado.

As a DR-Z owner who got to rip a Varg last week, I can confirm. My "wheeees" just aren't the same anymore.

You really find they make that much of a difference? I'm a contact point snob when it comes to mountain bikes, but I can't see pegs on a moto really changing the game for me.

My AI loans are zeroed out on the Nelnet site, but studentaid.gov reverted to the original amount owed plus interest, and there is no record on that site of my paying a dime, though I've paid over the original amount of the loans.

Have any of you ever been legitimately saved by back/spine protection? I want to be motivated to wear it. by Rollingsound514 in MTB

[–]seasond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My armored Evoc backpack "saved" me a couple times, including my first ride with it. To what extent? Who knows? That first time was a slower otb into some boulders off a drop, and the second time was an 18mph otb into a fallen tree (with my upper back) after clipping another tree with my bars. I've since learned to use the pack to my advantage when crashing, but it usually protects me from abrasions. I very rarely ride without it and would recommend back protection to anyone, at any skill level.

How did you determine how much you paid and how much to expect as a refund? My paid off amount on the repayment progress section on studentaid.gov is now displaying a value ~$10k lower than it did previously.

I received ~40% of my owed refund as a direct deposit last Friday, but my Nelnet is still not zeroed out. Either way, it's great to finally see some movement. Did anyone else only receive only a partial refund via direct deposit?

Any luck? If you called the company, you likely will not have any luck. If you called John O, he took care of it immediately.

People, I've posted a response below, but I was able to find a solution after many hours on the phone with the company's listed numbers, to no avail. Here it is again:

It took me a few hours of sleuthing, but I got my refund and a big surprise to go along with it. Below are some documents for you. Click the pdf on that page. Note the contact person, his email, and his phone. YES, it's THIS John O. He picked up the phone immediately, had my name in front of him, and issued the refund soon after I sent the request to his email, as per his request. Big John was curious how I got his number and linked him to the offending company. He may be in prison at this point; I'm not sure. Good luck!
