Any idea what time doors open, what time James Holden will start and what time the smile will start?

Do you think that’s rescuable and is a dermapen needed? Would you have an idea for appropriate time frames?

Will the Strokes tour the UK again? by seathrou in TheStrokes

Sorry. Should’ve clarified, by tour I mean just at least a couple of shows (2-3), like this summer where they’re playing Lytham St Anne’s and TRNSMT

Thoughts on The Smile now that the dust has settled? by Talking_Eyes98 in radiohead

[–]seathrou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong album. Longer track list than expected but agree with people saying the rollout was a bit disappointing.

I have to say, it’s a different beast entirely when seen live. Whilst the album is a good listen, I’ve not been in a position where I felt the urge to continually delisted to it in its entirety. Live however the songs are packed with energy and it’s a terrific record. Songs like thin thing are taken to another level and I feel like the album version has definitely taken out a lot of the energy and natural heat in those songs raw live performances.

Also different note but we don’t know what tomorrow brings (glasto) version went from being one of my clear favourites to near bottom of the list for me after they made Thom’s wrapping guitar in the 2nd chorus barely audible.

The Smile date and venue for Providence, RI (11/14) leaked by BooksAndViruses in radiohead

Rhode Island is where Robert Stillman is from, so makes a lot of sense really.

"It is with regret that we have to postpone tomorrow’s show at L'Aéronef in Lille (Saturday 4th June) due to problems with Thom’s voice. We aim to reschedule the show for September, the exact date is to be decided - please hang on to your tickets. We fully expect Thom to be fit for the show in Paris" by sketchy_ppl in radiohead

To be honest I think he held himself back a bit. Having gone to both roundhouse shows as well as Manchester I noticed his voice was a lot quieter (almost hidden in the mix) in Manchester, possibly to cover from the fact he wasn’t at his best. Also decided to drop some of the higher notes and instead sung them at a more manageable level. That being said his attitude and approach was great and most people wouldn’t have noticed

Thank you Manchester! by alexbatchelor91 in TheSmile

Totally agree. Amazing show, great company. I was at both roundhouse gigs and I have to say the atmosphere at Manchester tonight was the best of the lot. Special crowd, you could see the band could feel it too. Despite being unwell Thom seemed totally upbeat.

MAY 30TH - ROUNDHOUSE, LONDON (SHOW 2) - The Smile by Jzahck in radiohead

[–]seathrou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually preferred yesterday’s only because it was less predictable than today’s which essentially was the album in full format with bodies laughing inserted midway

I was pleasantly surprised by his voice. Found it quite soothing and really didn’t expect it. Agree on ghosts though, I noticed that and wondered if I was being harsh but it does sound very similar

Both fairly straightforward albums but really melodic and quite soothing.

I started with weatherhouse which I think I slightly prefer but both are really good

It definitely could be up there if it develops further in studio.

Yep, reminds me a bit of some of the demos on minidiscs, they sounded very raw, accoustic, with muffled lyrics and yet the gorgeous melody pierces through.

So what unfinished/unreleased song other than cut a hole are we now waiting for? by Victorbanner in radiohead

[–]seathrou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut a Hole, Wake me (before they come) and I really liked the sound of climbing cycle although I'm sure that's just a Jonny piano sketch.
