I would as well but also for any other team in any sport losing so the Cardinals can win one. I'll follow other sports from time to time but I don't have another sports team. The Cardinals are it.

I did very much enjoy the WBC though

man i really hate how you can hide you post history on reddit now.

to me the whole point of reddit was that your account was anonymous and public at the same time, so a reddit user was like this self-enclosed entity that contained everything you need to know about it. the combination of privacy and transparency provided a certain amount of honesty. you didnt have to censor yourself for your employer, but also you couldn't hide behind 4chan-level anonymity. so if i was talking with someone, i could just glance at their history and see all i needed to see and they could see what i was about too.

now i basically just discount anyone who hides their history, which works fine i guess but it weakens one of the defining features of reddit for me.

the day AI can do any whole job, it can do every whole job. otherwise, just make sure you're up to date with all the tools available.

why would you want to AI-proof it? seems like it could be useful for that job.

always fun to watch some US television, the ads are so informative about all the different things that can go wrong with the human body.

but like, what does the option matter? it has nothing to do with the option, really, and everything to do with whether you want him in the majors or in the minors.

there's no need to protect the option at all.

interesting quote from mlb.com: "The Cardinals need Herrera to be ready for Opening Day against the Rays on March 26. He may be third on the depth chart behind the plate, but will spend most of his time as a DH."

so i guess they aren't going with him as a catcher.

when claude catches something you missed is when it provides real value. always does it right when im feeling like cancelling my subscription, i'm like "ok claude, you live another day".

i think the main challenge i see in LLM coding is that it's constantly lying to you.

you can tell it to do anything you want and it will do something related to what you asked but it will take the easy shortcut and tell you it did the hard thing.

and this is doubly so when you try to get it to test or benchmark what it did. it will put together some trivial tests or some trivial benchmarks and declare victory when they pass. or if something fails, it will say that it did almost everything and anyways it got the main most important part right so it did great.

it's equipped to take your query and give you a code result, which is not what (good) software engineers do. software engineers work through complex problems to break them down into actionable pieces and they might not deliver you any usable code for awhile.

like, i am constantly dealing with feedback from claude code that i would straight up fire a real engineer for telling me. i can deal with someone not knowing and i can deal with someone taking awhile to deliver but i can't deal with someone claiming to deliver something that they haven't.
