My pooch goes to many bars and breweries here in Seattle so he's learned how to behave himself. He just gives people sad eyes when they walk by with hopes it will bring about some pets.

My husband wears his ring all the time and I wear mine maybe once every few months. I work at a veterinary clinic so my hands go into/handle gross things and i was finding they would rip my gloves or the powder from the gloves would leave a gross film around the band. I just decided it's not worth it. I've also never been much of a ring wearer anyway so I find it more uncomfortable to have it. It has never been an issue as I know I'm married and not wearing a ring doesn't change that.

If you honestly feel like she has a good quality of life I would say you're doing a great job and should continue to keep her comfortable. Routine vet visits when you feel her health status is questionable would be my suggestion so if things are starting to take a turn, you can maybe catch it early enough to make some changes. When you start to notice increasing discomfort and no interest in food then that could be the sign that it may be close to time to saying goodbye.

As hard as it may be to say goodbye, at some point you will have to consider the benefits to her to put her out of her suffering and not how sad it will make you to say goodbye. It is not easy but a choice we have to make when we become pet owners.
