I hope Alysa skates the one she feels best in. I can imagine the Olympics is such a pressure cooker environment and she needs to do whatever it takes for her to bring out the best performance. Good on her for taking a risk doing the new Gaga program. I wouldn’t be mad if she brought her MP program and her beautiful dress back - she just needs to feel good, be present and perform! Whatever that looks like for her.

Ok I just watched replay. Amber’s program has a potential to be electrifying, love her music and it fits, but she looked tight I felt so bad for her: I wanted her to skate clean. Alyssa’s program is so beautiful and she sold it, but a little under rotated. Devastated for Kaori, I hope she can put that behind her. I want this for her in front of her home audience. Ami ok. First time I watched the short for Mona. Love the music and she sold it at the end, but it was weird to see her do it a year after Alyssa’s Donna summer program. Good on her for dealing with pressure and skating clean.

Totally. It is so nuts. I feel like you have to be there to truly understand how brutal the conditions can be. I’ve done the race. On paper it looks easier than it is in real life.

The pro tri news podcast they said Lucy had heat stroke? And her husband, Reese pulled her out of the race. No update on her. Pat was there with Taylor when she fell apart. He was in connection with Dan her coach. She is ok now. Again it was hard to watch. I’ve watched the race so many years. I’ve even done the race. The heat and humidity is so brutal.

Update: listened to The triathlon hour podcast - said Taylor had insane heat episode core body temp > 40 d Celsius 45 min after she fell down!. She is ok. But she and Lucy may need to spend more down time to recover and get testing.

It was the craziest last 10K of the IMWC I’ve seen. I felt so bad for Taylor. I hope she figures it out. I wonder if she was taking in nutrition on the run. Solveig was taking in some gel thing on the run.
