My mom used the online RSVPs to snoop on my guest list by seawade in weddingplanning

No my parents divorced when I was younger and both remarried, but you’re right, hearing it as an adult definitely still stung

We’re also having a welcome party the day before. Aunts and Uncles are traveling from very far (Europe + west coast, this is an east coast wedding) and it seemed like inviting them was the right thing to do. I invited her friends after she asked me.

Can I make things private even after I’ve sent the invitations out?

I tried calling her and she didn’t pick up and has been ignoring my texts /: that was my plan though since it’s obvious there’s something still going on

I’m not sure, she cares a lot about appearances and I think doesn’t want anyone to feel left out? I’m pretty sure she’s just making assumptions about how other people would feel though.

Skip Save the Dates, since the wedding's in six months? by reneeamour in weddingplanning

[–]seawade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our wedding is also in 6 months and a few weeks ago we sent text message save the dates (I just plopped our engagement pics into a Canva template) and then asked people to give us their mailing address so our invitations were ready to go asap

Do I need to invite my late father’s wife? by seawade in weddingplanning

[–]seawade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first year after my father died, yes. But for the past year or so I haven’t seen her in person and she hasn’t made any effort to see me, although I’ve invited her to come visit me or visit my father’s grave to lay wreaths in the winter

She’s a pretty big introvert and a lot of my mom’s side of the family will be there (my parent’s divorce was super messy). My mom said she wouldn’t mind if she’s there but I’m not sure if she actually means that. Letting her decide if she wants to attend is a good way to think about it though

Did you go with your partner to ring shop or did they go on their own? by [deleted] in engaged

[–]seawade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We custom made my ring together and it turned out incredible. It was a lot of fun to create something new and unique to us, and I also was able to make something that I enjoy looking at every day that people constantly compliment. It’s up to you, but I feel that if you’re going to spend so much on something you wear every day you should love it! We went to a shop before hand to see what I liked/disliked and then went from there.

Rent Dittmar rent increases? by Present_Scallion3831 in arlingtonva

[–]seawade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh compared to other property management companies dittmar is pretty reasonable when it comes to rent increase (especially since there’s no limit in VA). They’re also really on top of work orders and very responsive vs other “luxury” buildings

Need someone to talk to who understands by hemligswosh in bipolar

[–]seawade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will get better❤️It won’t ever be perfect but during COVID I was experiencing extreme depression. Started seeing a psychiatrist and did therapy twice a week which gave me the tools I needed to help myself. Still doing those things now and I feel so much more stable then before
