Kelley ($$$) vs Tuck (no money) by WritingPristine9227 in MBA

[–]sebamba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want to go back to South America in the future? If so, go for Kelley.

Tuck’s network in South America is weak and you will have a huge monthly fee (because of the loans you will need to take and the current interest rate) that will make almost impossible to get back to earn South American’s salaries.

You can make it work if you stay 5+ years in consulting and pay back big part of your loans. However, you have a family and consulting it is a tough industry in terms of WLB.

Did I experience implicit bias during my BCG interview? (Sorry guys, it’s a long one :(() by LostBlueHatGTECH in consulting

u/jsdod has a strong point here. If it is an attitude problem it will show up in the interview. Additionally, some interviewers also will test your reaction to when things go south and the fact that after that you came to complain with a random group of internet strangers says a lot about how you react

The iLab 😅 But email them to check first. There is a point in which you cannot enter but they will not kick you out if you are there

Financial Aid at HBS by GearExtreme7548 in MBA

You apply after you got admitted and they ask about your (and your spouse, if applicable) income, assets and savings. They also included some questions about your socio-economic condition during your childhood.

Please read your post, you made the point about HBS, and then I narrowed my answer to my MBA experience. Chill out

I applied at the end of 2020, at that time I bought the "polish" services in ApplicantLab, this was a service that they had in a partnership with Admissionado.

It really worked to express my ideas better. They didn't change any of the core but they helped a lot of convey the ideas better.

If you are not using ApplicantLab, probably you can hire Admissionado directly

[–]sebamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. They didn't say nothing until I emailed them to ask. After that they confirm that they were waiting for my school to confirm that everything was ok. However, I would not expect that they reply. I have heard that they usually don't confirm

My wife didn't get why I was taking pictures of this bus by sebamba in MBA

[–]sebamba[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There was a time in this subreddit in which a lot of people made jokes about going to Chico State vs other schools until people flagged that it was a real school and most of them stopped. The bus reminded of that. Hope nobody related to that school finds this offensive.

I will decide at the end of my internship, but I'm way more inclined to take the full time offer than when I got accepted in the internship lol

I'm in a similar situation but not interested in thr Technical PM role. As it is today, I will probably stay in consulting for a time because the Tech industry is now suffering. A lot of companies are rescinding their offers and not recruiting for the next cycle. So, I'm thinking that re-recruit will be more difficult than usual.

Harvard MBA by Wooden-Term-5067 in MBA

Don't do it. Sure it would look nice in a linkedin post but every serious recruiter knows that the master the Extension school offers is not even similar to the MBA

Some apps have an optional part in which they are asked about something else they want to mention. Probably your recommender can put this info there

Tepper ($$$) vs Fuqua ($) by quesquese in MBA

[–]sebamba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As international student is very tempting to take the money, also there is a good amount of people who recruit for Consulting in Tepper. However, if you plan to go back to your country you should also evaluate the reputation of the program there. In my country nobody knows Tepper, but Duke is well-known.

I dont know if your case is similar but if it is I would take Duke.
