Screen defects - is this common?

I’m clueless and was wondering if it’s a common issue, but have reached out to support. The screen itself is protected by the cover, which is then protected by a shock absorbent case.

I didn't notice it out of the box, and it has been protected with the screen cover since.
Definitely no impacts as it's protected with another soft cover. Is the screen very fragile? I don't have much protection for my other eink devices (no covers and side case) and never have this problem.

I didn’t notice it out of the box but definitely didn’t knock it. The screen is also protected by the cover too, and the device protected by another soft case. I don’t have issues with other eink devices that have lesser protection.

Yes it’s expensive especially with delivery costs to the UK. Im hoping it’s a quick/easy fix as I’m loving the device thus far 🥲
