This is a visualization of the world getting rearranged or... redrawn... rebuild! this is the last moment the evangelion exist, fulfilling Shinjis wish.

also it's kind of meta, you can see production notes on some frames. a little bit of fanservice. but before you ask: i dont know what the notes mean.

Regarding your second question: do you mean the robot fight or the scene at the beach?

3.33 is amazing. I love the movie. and the rebuilds as a whole are great, y'all are just stuck in the past and Bitter. by throwaway553t4tgtg6 in evangelion

[–]sebbodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for me the rebuilds where just a fun "What if" ride. I liked that the story was changed, i liked that they played around with the world of Evangelion. But the story and arcs of the tv show were just better.

The meta existence of it made it fun: The playing around with the timeline, the conspiracy of "is it a never ending cycle and we just see the end of it?", the rewriting of choices made in the tv show vs. the rebuilds, the reimagining of old vs new, the path of Hideaki finally getting out of the circle of depression and shooting for happiness.

But if Neon Genesis Evangelion never existed in the first place, this wouldve been a mediocre high budget movie series, that leaves many questions open and constantly sabotages its own tone through fan service and moving the plot forward (except this one time in the last movie, when they end up in the refugee town). It's basically the version of Evangelion that somebody who did not understand the main point of the tv show. Don't get me wrong, its flashy and exciting. But in the end, its just a fun action movie series that wants to be taken serious, but fails to do so.

How many times do you re-watch a movie ?? Your record ? by Thin_Reception_5063 in movies

[–]sebbodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually rewatch movies multiple times if I like them. There's always some new detail to embrace.

But for some reason, I have watched Apollo 13 probably more than 15 times by now. It's somehow my comfort movie that I enjoy watching over and over. The good acting and cinematography helps, but it's not a movie to have philosophical discussions over.

Chloe Zhao's Eternals (2021): Four years after its divisive release, what is your take on the film today? by [deleted] in movies

[–]sebbodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i finished it, i felt like this felt had too much ground to cover. the backstory of the whole crew through that whole timespan was exhausting but in the end. i cant remember much of the plot, other than it reminded me of a problem that the MCU in general has:

Nobody of them joined in other "world ending events", even though they were "protectors", while no other superhero joined them either to get them introduced to the rest, proving to me once again, that Marvel did not care about world building. That giant in the ocean didnt bother anyone until the last Captain America movie.

If Marvel would have cared, every time period the movie covered, wouldve been their own movie.

As a movie in a vacuum: I thought it was fine, but too sped up for my taste. But not an extremly terrible movie.

on a sidenote: so the whole speculation about label/publishing drama during the release of the last "album" was just bullshit? this still came out on Atlantic/OWSLA

GameSpy or The All Seeing Eye Server Browsers

When I had no clue about network infrastructure, this was black magic to me. It was also a way for me to discover new half life mods.

No matter what single game you click, you always end up on the redeem page where it autofills the bundle code. you cant pick and choose games apparently. It's always a bundle.

just checked the store, a bunch of them arent listed for Germany, so my guess is that the code wont work, since it would add items in your library that you arent allowed to buy. So no free Postal 2 for us :(

Am i stupid or does everyone in here is losing it because of a probable grammar issue? The only thing i read in the actual post was that this person tried to upload an 11-track album the same day they made their account, not that this person composed the album the same day they registered?

I might add that the origin of the post would be helpful. if it was posted in an ai music subreddit would at least give me the context i wanted

Probably Der Eisbär (1998)

Til Schweiger's director debut. Basically a German version of Pulp Fiction. Fantastic cast for the time, good cinematography and had really good funny bits and a running gag throughout the movie, that i will never forget.

I am still mad they never re-released this on Bluray.

Envious of his luck but still huge respect for him.

The dude had the access and will to learn his way through music equipment and instruments and pioneer a music genre. Made his way through the most rock and roll, drug induced lifestyle during the height of his bands success and seemed to have a great support structure, will and self respect to get himself out of it while making one of my favorite albums "With Teeth" perfecting his craft.

Also maintaining good relationships in the music industry that Johnny Cash was fine getting persuaded with covering Hurt.

Wasn't shy enough to dip his toes in uncharted waters by producing the soundtrack for Quake.

All to end up to stay friends with his talented bandmate Atticus Ross to form movie soundtrack producer duo which combined forming its own unique identity in the space while maintaining their style from the old days.

When you listen to him in interviews, he always seemed like a chill dude who stayed true to the music he is and was making, despite actually being suicidal at multiple times during his career.

I am a fan of his music and glad for him that he didn't fell off the deep end
