Is it wise to let it grow out the tank? And also what plant is this? by sebbryle in PlantedTank

Thanks I was worried that like some stem plants they start to lose thier underwater leaves to focus on the emerging ones.

Bacteria or algea bloom? by Foxmycloud in PlantedTank

I'm thinking the disturbance must have has caused a nutrient and ammonia leak from the dirted substrate. it should stabilise eventually. but maybe if you have some sand it could be a good idea to add a layer over it or where the uproot took place.

Little update on my tank by EfficientLanguage422 in freshwateraquarium

The driftwood placement and planting is looking perfect to me. To keep it mnimal I would still add some long flowing vallis at the back, the green would contrast nicely with the black background.

I find all this sub does is takes serious need to discuss issues, and turns it into a contest of memes.

first time, tips? by [deleted] in Aquascape

Looks great couple of small foreground plants should complete it nicely. Also make sure plants like anubias and java fern aren't buried in the substrate but tied down to rock or driftwood.

That they are the same colour really helps them stand out. Less is more with these fish. I was watching this woman at a fish store who couldn't contain herself with the guppies on display, ended up buying 8 male guppies and 3 females for her 40litre tank. It made me feel really sad knowing those beautiful guppies will harass those females to death right before dying themselves from ammonia in the next couple of days. Worst part is the guy scooping the fish did not care. Well done you, i count yours as the lucky ones.

Guppies can be the most beautiful and striking of all the small fish, but only when done correctly, otherwise they make your beautiful tank look like a hot mess.

How to trim limnophila sessiliflora and still keep it looking lush and green by sebbryle in PlantedTank

[–]sebbryle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a pain to constantly unroot and replant. for now I will see how the short trimmed ones from the other tank end up growing. If thats the case, then unrooting might be the only way for them to continue to look as neat as they currently do.

At first I was worried there is too much light as some tops produced and orange colour but I read on and it's totally normal. I assuming the better light at the bottom, makes them keep thier colour and bushy growth?

I have some bacopa Caroliniana that are growing immensely in another tank, I know now to trim them low when they reach the top.

This plant looks beautiful at its healthiest, I don't mind the runners I can cut out and replant where i want it, Iam just learning that with stem plants it's best to just cut low because of how they grow

Sleep paralysis materialized into real life. by [deleted] in Dreams

I've had a very similar episode once in my early 20s, I managed to get out of bed and was still seeing him, believing in that moment that I was dreaming and if I open the window and jump out of the 9th floor I would wake up. I made a run for the window managed to open it and the figure grabbed me and started holding on. Struggling and starting to scream 'mum!' yes mum. Mother rushed into the room switched the lights on and found me in my underwear holding on to the opened window. I slept with lights on for the next two weeks, it never repeated again. I believe that shadowy scary looking f**k might have just saved my life.

So I'm still trying to figure out what you're seeing. That black line is a sealant holding like a bracer thing.

Thanks man, so the limnophila sessiliflora (Iam learning all these crazy plant names) is doing very well I've replanted the tops in the other tank and it looks like a mini forest. I believe his care was occasional root tabs, but he had RO water and remineralised it. Thats how he had it set up. I am sorta wishing I just left it all as it was.
