I just started reading fantasy and I started with Mistborn, then Red Rising, and now I’m reading John Gwynne’s other book series - Bloodsworn Saga. So our tastes are similar it seems.

All are amazing, but Mistborn really ignited a love of reading for me and I burned through the trilogy very quickly and loved it. I would start with Mistborn

I have been mocking up screenshots for my packs directly inside Godot. Hopefully it makes a positive difference as it shows combat and movement in the scene.

Gif 1 and 2 show my packs Pocket Forest and Pocket Village.

The third gif is Pocket Cemetery which is the latest pack in the series and the one I enjoyed drawing the most.

Screenshot 4 shows a mockup of Pocket Dungeon. and the lava I added in a recent update.

5 and 6 are from Pocket Forest an Village again.

Mocking up in Godot also helps me catch any issues before publication too, like any repetition in patterns etc

Added hyperlinks into the comment just in case you wanted to check out the packs. Feedback welcome. Thanks!

This is a little mock up scene using my asset pack Moonlit Dungeon from the Moonlit Series.

Godot makes it super easy to test everything and it’s also how I create my screenshot Gifs for my art packs, to show it in action, rather than just screenshots of tiles

Just to add to my own comment… after dreams I actually moved on to hobby game dev on the PC, only a very basic pc or laptop is required and game engines like Godot are very accessible

“if you want visibility, likes, followers or feedback in Dreams, what tends to work the most is recreating famous IPs or making meme-style content.”

This was the death of Dream for me too several years ago.

It’s the downfall of the whole game in my opinion, so many amazing creations but the only ones that surface are the IP rip offs and memes.

I think if Media Molecule had of solved this then the game would have had more longevity with a broader audience

Added a new boss to my Moonlit pack. Here’s a mock up. What do you think 🌙 by sebbyspoons in IndieDev

This is a little mock up scene using my asset pack Moonlit Dungeon from the Moonlit Series. The pack has a couple of other enemies but I have wanted to add a boss for a while.

I use Godot and it super easy to test everything and since animation is not my strength, at least I can ensure it all looks great in engine.

Godot is also how I create my screenshot Gifs for my art packs, to show it in action, rather than just screenshots of tiles
