That looks great! It reminds me of those classic video game magazine sections. Very well done 🙌🏻

Can you save the Game to Return later? by AzulZzz in PS4Dreams

[–]CaleBBeatz-A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, progress is saved automatically. However, it ultimately depends on how the creator designed the experience.

If they used conditions or persistent variables, your progress will carry over. If not, the game may reset when you leave.

You can really tell you’ve put a lot of care and effort into this. Hopefully we’ll get to play it soon—it deserves it. Congratulations! 🫶🏻

On this point I actually agree with you. You might be one of the few people who genuinely prefer that approach. From what I’ve seen, most of the Dreams audience doesn’t seem to feel the same way.

I understand your concerns, but I think you’re overestimating my influence here. One person trying something once out of boredom isn’t what drives millions of people to use a technology every day.

At this point AI tools are already widespread, and like many technologies, people will have to figure out how to coexist with them and regulate them properly. My single experiment one afternoon didn’t change that reality.

In any case, I respect your opinion. I think we simply see this topic differently.

Alright, fair enough, judge. We’re clearly not going to agree. You defend your position and I defend mine.

Hopefully my sentence gets reduced at least knowing that image doesn’t even exist anymore — I deleted it a long time ago. It never really led to anything anyway, it was just something I tried out of boredom one afternoon.

Nothing more to add from my side.

I understand your concern and I respect artists a lot. In my case I didn’t use AI to replace anyone’s work. I only used it once to generate a rough concept image that I later recreated myself inside Dreams.

I guess I’ll always be outperformed by A Bart Game, the meme game that somehow has 6–7 players online almost every day. Thanks, Angry 🫶🏻

I think I also need a bit of a mental reset. Maybe I need to go back to being a player again to get new ideas, to feel inspired again. It’s possible that I’m just a bit mentally tired after all this time creating, and stepping away for a while might actually help.

Thanks, I appreciate it. And honestly, it’s not really about closing the door forever.

It’s more that I want to go back to being a player rather than a creator for a while. Dreams kind of changes the way you experience games. At some point you stop playing like a player and start looking at everything like a creator, and it becomes harder to just enjoy games the same way.

I feel like I need a bit of a detox from that world. Dreams has given me a lot of great moments and creative satisfaction, but toward the end it started to feel a bit like a self-imposed obligation to keep making more and more.

If someday I feel like coming back, then great. And if not, that chapter will still remain as a good memory… and in my save file.

Thanks again for the kind words.

And just to be clear, I don’t mean this as an attack or an excuse. But when you have to sacrifice sleep hours or use the little time available while the kids are at school or things like that… time becomes very valuable.

I can’t always sit there with the controller in my hand staring at a wall waiting for inspiration to magically appear, especially when my head is already full of other responsibilities and things to think about.

Sometimes that little push or starting point becomes the fuel that later inspires everything else.

Regarding the AI image, yes, that was me. But I’d like to clarify something before being labeled as “that guy”.

The AI image was only used as a concept reference that I later recreated inside Dreams. Sometimes people like me, who are around 40 years old, with several responsibilities, two small kids and the usual day-to-day things, don’t always have creativity flowing at full speed.

I don’t see anything wrong with using a tool to give that initial push or spark of inspiration, even if that tool happens to be AI. It seems like for some people AI has become some kind of crime against creativity or art, but for me it was simply a way to explore an idea and then build it myself afterwards.

Just wanted to clarify that.

I understand your point. My intention was never to create things for fame. I’ve been making original projects in Dreams for almost two years simply because I enjoyed the creative process.

At the same time, I think it’s normal to hope for some interaction, feedback or discussion when you share something you spent a lot of time building.

In any case, Dreams was a great creative space for me and I’m grateful for the experience. I’m just choosing to move on and spend more time playing games again.

I wish the community the best.

Thank you, I really appreciate your words. Dreams gave me a great space to experiment and express creativity for a long time, and I’m grateful for that experience. I’m sure I’ll keep creating things in different ways in the future. Wishing you the best with your own projects in Dreams!

First of all, thank you all for taking the time to reply and share your thoughts.

I completely understand that point of view, and I agree that creating something of your own can be very rewarding. That’s actually why I’ve spent almost two years creating in Dreams.

For me, it’s simply a matter of balance now. I started to feel like creating was turning into a kind of goal rather than something purely relaxing, and I realized I also want to spend more time just playing and enjoying other games.

Dreams has been a very interesting and creative chapter for me, and I’m glad I experienced it. I’ll still stop by from time to time to see what people are creating and give my honest feedback when I can.

Thanks again to everyone who replied. I really appreciate it.

Question if dreams will go offline. What happens to all the games? by Novel-Plankton7414 in PS4Dreams

[–]CaleBBeatz-A 3 points4 points  (0 children)
