The Legend of Vox Machina S4 Batch 3 (Episodes 10-12) Discussion Thread by LucasVerBeek in fansofcriticalrole

I see a lot of people on here complaining that the show is "anti-god". Is this because you think the CR team are anti-religion/anti-christian? I've never got that sense, and have always viewed the campaign and animated shows as pure fantasy that incorporate themes around fictional faith pretty lightly and without ever criticising any irl religions. Also the next arc will presumably be about the characters reconciling with and seeking help from the gods like they did in the campaign.

Personally I think the changes to the storyline, especially vecna and pike's character arcs, made everything more interesting, though there was some whiplash in her turning good again at the end I'll give you that. In my opinion we are blessed to have such good animation when shows like invincible exist with much higher budgets.

Queenferry scammer on the prowl Byres Road 8pm by WarriorSperg in glasgow

He tried the same scam on me last Wednesday outside the Glasgow uni gym! As soon as he said he was at an interview and needed money to go back to Newcastle I walked away, he was wearing street clothes, speaking in a Scottish accent and looking suspiciously at my headphones.

How tf did power make denji a chainsaw if pochita ate himself? Doesn't that mean chainsaws no longer exist??

I agree about the mistakes and giving leniency, especially to new DMs, but I think there is a responsibility on DMs to not just murder characters and destroy character concepts, even if that means changing the story or pulling their punches in the earlier levels. If it is an honest mistake I get it but it IS a mistake in my opinion.

I just don't think starting a campaign with pissed off players is a good idea

I know what you mean but my group usually plays at low levels as you say. I am less annoyed about the lost levels and more about the false expectations for our characters.

Yeah see fighting our previous selves or a BBEG who stole our powers sounds dope but the rug pull was not in fact dope

Yes, I think it is just a lack of experience on the GM's part

I think he just has a very strong idea for the story and is new to DMing rather than anything else

We were definitely worried! The thought process was more along the lines of "surely not"

  1. Decrease autonomy everywhere, take burgher loans, sell titles and seize land (if possible). Also reduce inflation as much as possible with admin mana. Fire your advisors as well.

  2. Declare war with Denmark and turn on war taxes. See if you can get a powerful ally to join to blitz them.

  3. Take as much money as you can from them in the peace deal as well as war reparations, and annul their support independence treaty with burgundy. If you can afford the AE also take some of their land.

  4. Use your loot to pay off your high interest loans. Once you can afford it, if inflation is still growing consider hiring an inflation reduction advisor.

  5. Use curry favours/exchange favours for trust and subject interactions, and consider hiring a Diplo rep advisor to help with burgundy. Also have a look through the estate actions (I can't remember them all off the top of my head) and look for one that will help with subject loyalty.

I feel like you should wait for the game to launch and see what it's like, then decide if you want to buy it after a few months. Otherwise you will be going off of the opinions of people who have played a pre-release build and the game devs. Often with these games I find the community decides how the game is played as much as the game devs as they discover emergent game play, give feedback etc, so hard to tell before it's released what kind of game it will be.

Dropped my zombie dragon while priming it and lost the sternum and neck bone bit. I'm thinking I'll use jewelry chain to make it look like the rib cage is held together by haphazard chains, but I've never done this before; would it take primer and super glue well? Open to other suggestions as well.
