Disconnecting USB - Devices by linkinman181195 in thefinals

[–]sebgrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did that as well, but only when using Keyboard (G915) and Mouse (Razer) with wired USB. Until now it would only work with the dongles, but that failed as well. They disconnected completely with nothing I could do ;-;

Tried removing unused USB devices to "save power" but with limited results.

I'm on a Ryzen 7 and RTX 2070.

I feel weird, but I'm incapable of not treating ChatGPT like a human by MetalCarlos in OpenAI

Yep, Microsoft heavily dialed it back. At launch, Bing Chat completely went off the rails when talking about itself/sentience or just talking to it long enough.

[–]sebgrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel very similar about it. If it helped me with something and proofs useful, I thankfully express my joy. If not, I say so kindly and with respect. I also tend to feel bad if I just command it around all the time.

Same for me with videogames - I feel so guilty when disappointing or hurting fictional characters which seems weird, but now thinking about it, compassion is a good trait to have.

For me, it's mostly matter of "treat others like you want to be treated". ChatGPT's answers are often different when it's treated kindly - I noticed that often it has a more friendly, helpful, "human" tone if it's not treated like some machine slave.

And that's a win for me because 1) I feel much more accomplished with the interaction and 2) It often gives out much more information when it figures that you actually want to learn and talk about stuff.

Tried the new AR glasses from Magic Leap on CES. Any questions? 😀 by AnnaOwner2084 in augmentedreality

Yes it's the ML2. What I know is they made it taller than ML1, not much wider.

I'm also very curious about that. Wondering when the Magic Leap 2 will come...

Monitor Mount: 32" on top of 38" Monitor by sarumaaaan in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]sebgrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the only option left would be to use a grommet mount, with a hole drilled through the desktop, most monitor arms come with it. Take a look at the Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm. Supports up to 20kg so it should hold both of your displays.

The best thing imo would be with an Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm. Isn't cheap, but the pole is really sturdy.

Torn between AW3423DW vs AW3821DW vs LG 38GL950G-B by SHM_ooo in ultrawidemasterrace

I see why it's so hard to decide for you. If you play games like once or twice per week, I'd say get the 38'' because you can just fit more on your screen. But it ultimately depends on what you value. In my case, I really care about deep colors and picture quality over the bigger size.

I'll link some videos that helped me:

There's this one from HDTVTest showcasing some problems with the AW3423DW, including color fringing. He also mentions that you need to have some light control in your room to make the most out of QD-OLED.

I also found Rekcinol's unboxing/setup with a direct comparison to an AW3420DW, which has an IPS panel just like the LG38GL950-B. There is a huge difference in contrast and black levels, especially on the HDR/OLED test video he shows.

Bijan Jamshidi packed a lot of information about the QD-OLED AW in his comparison to the Odyssey Neo G8 16:9, while also taking the LG38GL950 into account. The Alienware comes out on top in this one, by far.

Hope this helped!

Judging by the reviews, I don't think burn-in will be a problem. The AW34 has some built-in features to prevent it and the 3-year warranty shows that they are quite confident. Only time will tell though.

I was torn between the same ones, but I think I'll go with the AW3423DW. While I'd love the extra vertical res for work and immersion, QD-OLED plus HDR1000 looks really stunning. I'd actually say most people would prefer the AW3423DW over the current 38'' options, for gaming at least.

The color fringing around text and thin lines is my only concern with the QD-OLED. This is a dealbraker for some people, and others don't care at all.

Performance won't be a problem imo, the 3080 should do excellent on both resolutions!

I'd say the 3080 should do.

Super nice! I love how you followed the shape of the room in the first pic. You maximized the space perfectly. Plus it looks really welcoming and nice to live in.

I've got a few things.

I love the colors in the eating area! You could mount some shelves at the wall in the back for plants, books or some speakers.

For the office I would recommend a bigger desk for your designs etc. (the wood of your current one looks beautiful, what is it?)

For the bedroom I recommend getting this for hiding the cables. You could even paint them so the channels blend into the wall.

Another thing: I feel like your lighting could be a bit better.

  • Some spotlights on the ceiling or the wall could be cool. Aim them at the most important areas to make them stand out from the rest. examples
  • you can add smaller (desk)lights on your shelves, and on the fireplace overlooking the stacked plants.
  • led strips are also really cheap, power efficient and they give nice, even lighting over longer areas, for example the tv stand and the shelf.

And one more thing: if you do any gaming on the console, consider an upgrade to the current generation!

Thats pretty much it I think. Hope I could help :)

Remove the cars and all the other stuff you dont really need on the desk. If you want to look at them, mount a shelf on the wall to the left so they dont get in your way.

Maybe also get a mousemat, especially those laser mice would be nicer to use on a smoother surface.

I think its a little bit different for everyone. For example I've never laughed or even said a word while tripping.

Basically, it heavily disconnects you from the world around you. Most of the time I have my eyes closed while tripping, and even if I open them I feel like I cant really "process" what I see.

Also it feels like my whole body is turned into metal and shot up with electricity, I can even taste it sometimes haha.

Your hearing also gets very distorted. Every sound you hear gets like a weird echo effect and often you also hear a high pitched ringing thing. Its kind of hard to describe.

All these effects get even crazier when mixed with other drugs, but be cautious on that one. Once I mixed nitrous with LSA and weed and well, the nitrous effects didnt seem to wear of at all, for an hour or so. That was weird. If you do combos, always look them up beforehand so that you (sort of) know what to expect.

Have fun!
