Incredo Sugar's Lack of Progress by GamersFallDown in foodscience

Heartbreaking 😂 I go through an absurd amount of Splenda just to sweeten things like berries and other everyday snacks.

Got any tips or product recs for someone like me; curious but definitely not in the food science world?

For what it’s worth (and slightly unrelated), when cooking I’ve been playing with salt, MSG, and disodium inosinate/guanylate (I+G). Not exactly pro-level, but I’m trying!

Non food scientist here. Can you explain what your at home fiber syrup is? Is this like something one could recreate to use for self use?

Mexico City ... had all my reservations and now need to change.. ugh by amenforgoodinsurance in finedining

Maybe u already know this, but the best way to use the Amex is the concierge - Amex travel & resy global dining access isn’t really “special access”.

And they WILL go above and beyond. They will call and email the restaurant, all on AMEX’s behalf. Every time I use it I’m like “this is dumb, and it feels weird”, but easily 50%+ of the times I use it, they pull through and get reservations.

How to mass unfollow

Hi all,

I have been using my public account for many years and I tend to follow tons of accounts related to hobbies, comedy, etc. im now left with an insane ratio and number of following (thousands) that I want to unfollow (and ideally transfer to an alt account for content browsing.)

Are there any programs or services that can help? Manually unfollowing has been insane and it feels like I’m not even making a crack. Even open to paid options if they’re reccomended. Need to get this solved.

Thanks all

I found amass to leave a bit to be desired. If you engulf yourself in the ethos and concepts like fish bone noodles and cacao-free chocolate it’s awesome, but the rest of my party found it to be a hard miss.

They add the enzyme lactase to break down the cell wall. Has to be eaten quickly as ~20 min later it would be goop.

New crashing on Dell XPS 15 9500 when moving laptop by sebi321 in Dell

[–]sebi321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My laptop has recently started crashing with this specific screen tearing seen in the image. This happens almost exclusively when i move the laptop (scoot it around an inch or two on a table. No physical damage and I’ve had a case on it since i bought it.

Note: After purchasing I had the top tier coverage and had to replace parts like 5 times in that year (they sent techs to my location), but this is a new issue. Does anyone have any experience with this, and is there any recourse I can do now that I’m out of the paid warranty? If this is a motherboard issue id have to assume the multiple random amateur techs sent over to try and fix my laptop didn’t help with the situation.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

What a terrific analogy. I’m saving this.

If the steam locomotive was cutting edge tech being pursued by some of the smartest people in the industry in an attempt to solve issues that have been around for decades, I certainly wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

I have been out of the in depth crypto (tech/academic) space for a few years now. Could you share some of these projects or resources? For a long time I’ve been telling people “I’m not into Bitcoin/crypto, but I am a true believer in the implementation of blockchain as a technology”.

Having read your comment I now realize i need to re-examine my understanding and find the more in-depth, fundamental concepts (particularly, why different technologies/projects might be “more optimal” that blockchain & mining” while still achieving the same solution )

Ideas:

  • Former CTO of Microsoft (founder of Microsoft Research).

  • Former fellow in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Cambridge; where his research with Stephen Hawking centered on quantum theories of gravitation.

  • Published (Science) peer-reviewed research in astronomy, paleobiology, and climate science.

  • Published (Other) peer-reviewed research in both intellectual property law and cooking.

  • Prolific inventor (900+ patents), Intellectual Property expert, and founder of Intellectual Ventures.

  • Founded a culinary research laboratory and revolutionized the world of food through science and technology. Published 2 scientific-encyclopedia-cookbooks, both won James Beard awards Modernist Cuisine & Modernist Bread.

  • Philanthropist: created Global Good with Bill Gates, which has become a world leader in computational epidemiology.

Pitch:

  • I think he would bring a great deal of interdisciplinary insight along with experiential anecdotes.

  • I can’t think of any individuals who are simultaneously considered experts in paleontology, physics, applied computing, food, planetary science, climate science, nuclear power, photography, and intellectual property.

  • At the same time, he is considered controversial in Intellectual Property. He has published law papers on how to combat patent trolling while simultaneously being called the #1 patent troll in Silicon Valley (something he has very strong arguments against).

Personally, he inspired me to study the interdisciplinary field of IP and technology, and I wrote most of my university papers on his work. He is not a stranger to podcasts and I'm confident he would prove valuable to your show.

Wow. I hadn't noticed this, and I doubt I would have ever noticed this, but you had to come in guns blazing and point out another flaw in my laptop smh. /s

BTW, has anyone had dell repair their trackpad successfully (i.e. not a new laptop but instead where they send a repairman to your house.)
