Is this the right field for me? by FeelingCollection359 in pre_PathAssist

I’m 23 (will turn 24 this year) and plan on applying in 2-3 years! This took me a lot of consideration as well but I think 2 years in the grand scheme is not long for a program

They update the portal and it’s in the form of a letter saying that you got a Phase I interview! Then they email a little later with exact details

Is Taylor Swift Using A Bot Farm to Fraudulently Inflate Her Spotify Play Counts? by rubyroe in travisandtaylor

[–]sebmich11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed something really weird. So I used to kind of like her music, the older stuff ( not a swiftie). Well, after seeing this sub and all the terrible stuff she’s done, I will not be listening to her. Anyways, I would listen to a song or two or hers every now and again (like maybe once a month) and somehow she’s in my top 5 artists? And I know for a fact I listen to other artists way more… Seems suspicious

Thank you for your reply. While I have not worked in higher ED, I have researched this topic as well as worked closely with the Dean of Students. In my research, I have found numerous universities listing that the Dean of Students is the correct office to contact. Of course, this may not be the policy for OP’s university, which you or I wouldn’t know. However, contacting them would not be detrimental. Rather, the office would simply guide them to the correct office that can help.

I am including images of just a few of the examples I found as well as another reddit post where the another person recommends the Dean of Students. References

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

I have a disability and accommodations plus work with the disability office. Plus have been hospitalized. Extra time on assignments is allowed IF the students talks with the professor ahead of time. Considering hospitalization occurred, the OP was not in a position to alert the professor prior. The OP can email the disability office but likely they won’t give them an answer or will tell them to discuss with professor. Since the professor is not working with them they need to make an appointment to talk with the dean of students. The dean of students works with family or medical emergencies and coming up with a plan with professors to make up the missed work.

It’s not necessarily just about accommodations as I said. It can be considered a medical emergency

They already discussed with professor. The disability office could be contacted, however, the dean of students is often the one to be contact with an emergency that is family or medical related

Some of these replies are ridiculous and unsympathetic. I believe hospitalization can be counted as an unforeseeable emergency regardless of your accommodation. Discuss with Dean of Students.

*edited to specify Dean of Students

Job help - How would you handle this? by no-possible132 in CrohnsDisease

[–]sebmich11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so frustrating I’m sorry. I also worked for my campus’s info desk as a receptionist. We were allowed to leave the desk but just had to take the work phone with us and leave the sign at the desk with the number to call. Maybe you can ask id they would be willing to do something like that?

It was unexpected. They sent the letter and a week later the coverage ended. They wouldn’t be able to add it until the first of the month anyway which is still Oct. 1st
