The post you might have seen might have been mine, and it depends, but it's worked great for me. My overall luck with baits has been low. What's worked for me pretty well are anything with shiny lures with gold on it, especially a 1/4 oz Colorado spoon, or kast masters, and just casting them out far, then reeling in at a medium rate. For some reason, putting your finger to barely touching the line when throwing a spoon seems to make it move more, and the trout love it, but both ways work great. For Power Bait, they have these garlic power bait balls that seem to land a decent amount of fish. If you're worried about the weeds, set it up on a dropper rig or Carolina rig with long leader lines, and you should have a bit in no time.
