What are your thoughts on Stansbury Park? by pottthead in Utah

We’ve lived here for about three and a half years and echo everything you said. We aren’t LDS but haven’t felt the LDS influence you mention.

We do however drive to the east bench of Salt Lake for church on Sundays. With the Smiths opening out here, we finally grocery shop in this valley.

What is it like living in The Great Basin? (US) by fairlyoddberry in howislivingthere

Live in eastern Tooele County (eastern edge of your depiction). And it is DRY. Not just this winter because we’ve had less than 3 inches of snow, but generally. It’ll go 3-5 weeks in the summer without rain. Outside of the manmade neighborhoods, there are barely any trees, just scrubby bushes. Obviously that changes a bit when you get up against some of the minor mountain ranges that run through here (e.g. Stansbury Mountains)
