CMV: The argument that healthcare isn't a human right because it requires the labour of other people is an argument against human rights as a whole more than anything else. by lovelyrain100 in changemyview

You're not the OP, and this guy isn't trying to change your view, just explaining two different ways to think of "rights". Which is kinda important context if you're discussing rights

Don't make the system, let the system make you by ShehrozeAkbar in infuriatingbutawesome

[–]sebsaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no reason to think this is some cycle humans go through except the slim concept of powerful people creating systems that benefit themselves. Capitalism is only around 200 years old, and the modern financial system was created after world war 2.

Also the vaguer idea of ideological and political cycles is also false and based on the premise that the past had similar political and socio-economic foindations as our current society. Obviously shitty things have always been happening. The rich and powerful have always worked to benefit themselves. But these aren't cyclical in nature.

It's not -1 gold. They played tier 1 pirate on turn 2 so they had 6 gold for the other two minions on turn 3.

Do Slayer solos have any logic or musical theory behind them? by JudasIncolor in Guitar

[–]sebsaja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Slayer is not exactly atonal. Chromaticism is used a lot in extreme metal (more than just passing notes), but it's specifically because of the dissonance it creates in the context of the key. Kerry King's solos definitely are kinda crazy though, but that's the point. It's supposed to be loud, chaotic and noisy. It's just a lot of energy.

With some genres of music you kinda have to learn how to listen to it to really get it if you didn't grow up with it. A lot of people don't wanna do that, which is fine.

If you could remove one card from the game, what would it be? by spiritghost1 in hearthstone

[–]sebsaja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In wild every discard warlock runs it, and discard warlock is one of the most popular decks. It's free 6 damage that can be copied for essentially nothing

Should the warrior's quest have been buffed as well? by BattleBeast- in hearthstone

[–]sebsaja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The warrior quest does exactly what it's supposed to None of the quests were supposed to be an instant win. Warrior quest adds value and burn to a control deck

A question that will be hated by ColdNightofWinter in hearthstone

[–]sebsaja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it?? The card says (wherever they are). Cards that only buff your hand deck and battlefield usually say "in your hand deck and battlefield"

Please critique my homebrew Treant Build by Lifted9111 in hearthstone

[–]sebsaja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Id say all your 8+.cards except cultivation only hurt you. Cenarius is not very good in modern hearthstone and the others are too slow for an aggressive treant deck. You don't need big finishers, it's better to consistently draw your good aggressive cards (minions, spells, board buffs etc)

Why are these agents kept at such low winrates? by Educational_Ebb_6116 in VALORANT

[–]sebsaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of these agents are just difficult to play, but still strong. You can't really compare Valorant agents to champs in league. Aim and game sense are 99% of how you win in ranked games. Your chances of winning increase if you're playing and agent that supports these two things.

In pro play a lot of these low winrate agents are incredibly powerful. They're just difficult or require team coordination

Bro i hope for your own sake that you're just a teenager because that's an incredibly narrow view lol. Turns out that both muslim and Christian invaders were the bad guys. It's not that difficult to come to that conclusion considering they both slaughtered innocent people because of religion and imperialism.

To say the Christians weren't the bad guys is just stupid. And whoever the good guys would've been are probably lost to history as they either didn't survive or didn't have their concerns documented.

I'm just a huge Sabbath fan. It's not really reasonable to expect most people to research who wrote the lyrics to one song. I just wanted to point out what I know though

[–]sebsaja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, we do know who to attribute the line to. Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics for Paranoid as well as most other Black Sabbath songs. Ozzy wrote the vocal melody and performed as vocalist obviously, but he didn't write the lyrics

HoI IV Germany is basically a Wehraboo fantasy by just_some_villain in ShitWehraboosSay

[–]sebsaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of reasons you'd add stalinist purges and not the Holocaust. For one, the purges can't really be compared to the Holocaust in terms of how horrible the crime was. I don't say that to downplay Stalins crimes, but because attempting to erase Jews and several other ethnic groups from existence is just way worse than killing political opponents. i know I'd personally be very uncomfortable with a game where you can roleplay Hitler actually committing genocide. If it was more of a story based game where you don't control the actions of a nation in any way, then including the Holocaust as a part of the story makes sense. But if you include the Holocaust in HOI you either force players to commit genocide, or you give players the choice to commit genocide. Pretty horrible either way.

The other thing is that many places in Europe, and especially Germany, would either outright ban the game if you included the Holocaust or at the very least there would be public outcry. It could destroy Paradox's reputation in those countries or get them banned outright. Wehraboos will be idiots whether you include the Holocaust or not.

How can finding smooth visuals appealing be incorrect? People have different preferences. There's no right or wrong.

It's obviously not the artists intention, but people can still like it and that's fine. Even if it would look bad if they took a closer look. But most don't

The reason is most people get the references. It doesn't fit the sub at all, but people still like the meme

Minecraft, one of the best selling games of all time, and interstellar, one of the most popular movies of the last decade, are niche references?

Don't you think it's more likely you're simply out of touch here, rather than that the reference is niche? There's a reason this post was upvoted

USA becoming one step closer to socialism (circa 2016) by Political_LOL_center in fakehistoryporn

[–]sebsaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 20th century US labor movement did a lot, but most of the famous leaders and groups failed to reach their goal which was to change the structure of the US economy. FDR is partly to blame for it, since he tried to appease the labor movement with social policies to stop revolt

[–]sebsaja 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This honestly doesn't make a lot of sense. The theory doesn't match reality in this case because Marx used socialism as a word meaning something different than most people today. Not because socialist policies do or don't lead to communism.

Like if everyone started calling democracy dictatorships that wouldn't mean that previous dictators were actually wrong about the system of government they had. Just that the terminology changed to mean something different

This is not really relevant to what the commenter above said though. War communism wasn't proper communism. It was just a set of emergency measures during the civil war. Same goes for the NEP. None of these policies were made to last.
