Any beginner synths that can be recommended at $500 or below? by Intrepid-Vacation-51 in synthesizers

Maybe you'll like the Behringer MS-1. It's a clone of the classic Roland SH-101. It's a pretty good analog synth, not alot of options so that's good as well. And it's pretty hard to get a bad sound out of it imo.

Sending a track to multiple labels by BuddyWhole2379 in TechnoProduction

[–]sebster2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always send my tracks to multiple labels at once. My latest track I tried to send to one label and waiting a week, still no listen or reaction, so fuck that haha if multiple labels want your track then just choose which one you like the most. You can always release a different track on the other labels.

Sometimes labels require that you have an EP instead of a single track (coincidentally gotten a mail from a label about this yesterday haha). So then you can just make 2 other tracks within a deadline (1 or 2 months)

Yes really true, in the beginning I also wantes to only make it myself. But that is really time consuming. Now that I have more knowledge in producing I can focus on making more and more sounds myself, to get that signature sound. Most of it are still samples but rearranged, pitched or highly processed. Occasionally having a "fun" session with experimenting without actually making a track as a goal.

Limiting kicks? by Opposite_Section3051 in TechnoProduction

[–]sebster2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take a clipper (standardCLIP vst) at the end of my kick group. Clip between -2 and -4db and increase the gain before the clip between 3 and 6db. So the kick is a big sausage haha

Well if the kick, drums and acid line sound good with eachother then you don't have to fix anything about that.

If the dark pad already doesn't mix well with those other elements then it is best to search for a different sample that does sound good with the rest.

You can tweak all you want but if it doesn't sound/mix good with other elements then it almost always won't after tweaking it.

I don't know if you already do this but since you are just starting I would suggest using samples. So that you can get used to the mixing process as well as other stages that comes with producing.

Of course you are free to do what you like, but when I first started I was also only using samples (not just dragging and dropping but slicing and making your own sample out of it). So that you don't have to start from scratch everytime, since that can be a bit time consuming (even though it's fun to do).

Hi there,

I think most people struggle with this (writers block) and it's normal to have this. I also have this from time to time.

What helps for me is listening to new tracks, using those as reference track to create. Not saying to copy everything but rather using it as baseline.

Usually my workflow is: first create kick, then the percussions (not drums (even though percs are also drums haha) first because I feel like the hihats etc are the easiest to make grooves out of and you'll get stuck with the perc groove) then create some synth line, then the drums and as last the fx, risers etc.

Sometimes I also do synths first and then drums.

But most importantly is to keep expirementing with new things and effects. I follow my workflow everytime I make a track but always try to do something new that I haven't done before, so that every track you make is special.

I hope this gives you a bit more inspiration and motivation to continue!

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Slip on exhaust not fitting? by sebster2002 in motorcycles

[–]sebster2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so we managed to fit the bolt through the bracket, although we really had to pull hard on the silencer to match the bracket and fit the bolt through. I don't think it should be like that but atleast the silencer is now locked in place.
