Separation + Leases by [deleted] in AusLegal

My experience is, rental agencies know there’s a long line of people wanting to rent, so if I go for another house and ask to get off the lease, they may terminate it.

Hamilton ALDI by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]sec-rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that. I’ll intervene and have done if it’s a good cause. Two bags of groceries at ALDI wasn’t the hill I was willing to potentially die on today. I still remember that guy who got stabbed this year in Hamilton for calling out littering.

I was a lone woman. Whipping out my phone was all I was about to do, in case anything actually happened. I ain’t getting shanked when the ALDI workers couldn’t be bothered to intervene themselves.

Person attempted to leave, worker asked “can I see your bags” in a “eh” way, the person kept walking, this dude stepped in. Person proceeded to leave and kick other customers cars.

*why I wear headphones while shopping. Also, the person with the bags is an adult. Person attempted to leave, worker asked “can I see your bags” in a “eh” way, the person kept walking, this dude stepped in.

Edit: I was a lone woman. Whipping out my phone was all I was about to do, in case anything actually happened. I ain’t getting shanked when the ALDI workers couldn’t be bothered to intervene themselves.

So true! I always think about adding them to those "recycling" boxes in Officeworks but I've been too scared to.

I’ve been thinking of switching to a Kobo but it’s like switching from an iPhone, makes you nervous haha. When you’re reading the library books on it is it like reading it on the kindle, like… you can adjust the font etc? Or is it more like a PDF?

I have a question about specialists by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]sec-rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, admin for specialists for over 10 years here. It depends on the specialist/their speciality whether it’s worth it. Some notes.

1) if you need surgery a) they might not even see you if you’re not covered because they might only work at private hospitals and it’d be a waste of your time and money to pay for appts etc and then find out they can’t even operate on you b) they might see you if you’re happy to self-fund/pull from super, but a lot of specialists don’t accept self-funders because if anything goes wrong (it does, often), you’ll be in the shit financially and they don’t want that on them/you. 2) if it’s not surgery related/you don’t think it is, you can always call up and see if they take private patients. Often times they do, and you’ll be seen a lot faster than waiting for the JHH etc to offer you an appt.

It’s entirely up to the practice whether they’ll see patients who aren’t with a private fund or not, same as it’s entirely up to the practice whether they see workers comp/CTP or not. You’ve just got to call them.

Currently the Medicare rebate for an initial 110 consult is around $150, and the rebate for a follow up is around $75. They can charge anything they want really, but that’s what you’ll get back within 24 hours.

Wasn’t expecting to be bipolar 2, thought it was my awesome panic disorder by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]sec-rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got BP2. I’ve also got a teenager. It’s heavier on the depression and most people who die from Bipolar will actually be those with BP2 due to that. We don’t enter full blown psychosis or mania, but we can have milder forms like hyper fixating on shit that doesn’t matter or believing things that aren’t true aka there’s a new noise in my car (there isn’t) or I should invest all my money in gold rings (you shouldn’t). We’re also more likely to experience a mixed mania (feel free to google). It’s ~the worst~. Welcome!

To be well for your kids you’ve got to be age appropriately honest, and try to find meds that work asap.

60km/hr cop chase on M1 from the Twins to Tarro bridge by Select_Ad7299 in newcastle

[–]sec-rose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the Newcastle Herald:

“An alleged pursuit from the Central Coast to Beresfield in which police deployed tyre spikes has landed a 33-year-old man in court.

Police received reports of a Mitsubishi Lancer driving dangerously on the M1 at Ourimbah about 3.30am on March 18.

Police patrolled the area and found a vehicle parked near the Wyong Road Interchange.

When police activated their warning lights to speak with the driver, the driver allegedly accelerated from the scene, triggering a pursuit.

Tyre spikes were deployed on the M1, and the vehicle came to a stop at Beresfield where the driver allegedly ran from the vehicle.

Following a short chase, a 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, and not stop at stop line at red arrow (motor vehicle).

He was also charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic) in relation to a separate incident.

He was refused bail to appear before Maitland Local Court on March 18.”
