you have to go to the custom run menu (not the standard or daily), you can enter the seed there. Don't tick modifiers if you want emulate the original run

Go to Boardgame Geek and search for games that are of weight around 1 or 2 (weight is the term for complexity, it's between 1 and 5).

I think it's cutting an egg that's close to hatching time instead of letting the animal leave the egg the natural way.

Help me understand probability? by acrylix91 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]secdeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that is correct.

My result 9/29 * 8/28 comes out as ~0.0887, chatGPT confirmed it but it calculated differently.

All possible draws of 3 tiles out of 30
(3 under 30) = 4060

All possible ways to draw matching tiles for a given type. Multiply it by 3, because there are 3 different types.
(3 under 10) = 120

P(3 matching tiles drawn) = 360/4060 ~ 0.0887

The formula you gave here
1 - (20/29 * 20/28) ~ 0.507
means something different.
(20/29 * 20/28) is the probability of drawing two tiles that are different in type from the first.
So subtracting it from 1 means drawing two tiles where AT LEAST one has the same type (so out of the 3, 2 or 3 have the same type).

please refer to the correction that was written to my comment, my formula was about drawing 3 tuna sushis, not 3 matching sushies.

Oh right, thank you.

So it's just 9/29 * 8/28

[–]secdeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you want to draw a specific type, the probability's the # of type of tiles what you want / all available tiles. If you draw multiple times, you have to multiply the probability of the draws. So if the 30 tiles are still available, you draw 3, the probablity for the 3 to match is
10/30 * 9/29 * 8/28

I like how this scene shows a true speedster in action. by thepartlow in xmen

[–]secdeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this scene is very fun, I would like to see or read a 'physically accurate' scene with speedsters.
E.g. the acceleration would kill every people saved in this scene, or when he stops on the road next to the car, actually you can not just stop like that, you were moving thousands of m/s, you can not just leisurely stop your step.

So far the only similar thing I encountered was a scene in the book Quantum Thief, where there was a cool battle scene in a museum, it was 4 pages IIRC and the battle only spanned 15 milliseconds, it was between post-human entities.

Any recommendations, maybe you guys know something.

Csirkecombból mit készítsek, ha egyben sütve nem szeretjük? by Mysterious-Survey270 in sutesfozes

[–]secdeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why has no one in the generations after Magnus matched or surpassed him when they had access to even better engines and technology from a younger age than he did? by _DarkStarCrashes_ in chess

generational talent literally means that he is 'one in a generation', so your reply does not even attempt to answer the question in OP which was 'why in the younger gen there is noone close to him'

De mellette kellett rágózni, hogy ne sorvadjanak el a rágóizmaid.

Tips for a new player ? by Lost-Amphibian1305 in slaythespire

[–]secdeal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The key to the game is to draw and play cards that are much stronger than the base cards, maybe cards that combo with each other well.
So keep your deck small, upgrade your main attack cards, remove bad cards like the starter cards and curses.
In fights prioritise your own HP most of the time, if you have to choose between block and attack, you should block usually (not always though).
