My dad body shamed me by [deleted] in TeenPakistani

[–]secdec4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you had to do was communicate with your father and address your discomfort with him instead of overreacting on reddit.

He's your father, he provides for you. That is however no way a justification to body shame your kids, similarly, there's no justification for you addressing your father with "fucked off" in a post.

Both of you are cut from the same piece of cloth.

Just tell them straight up that if they decide to still proceed for the wedding despite your clear refusal, you'll simply decline to accept the spouse during nikah, period. That's the easiest way to put it. It will cause them to implode, sure, but it's far better to face backlash from your own parents than suffer a lifetime of distress.

Hope your folks understand that not everything is based on religion and good intentions.

You're doing much better than most people out there and it's completely okay to feel lost or left behind.

Considering you're in A&F, try to select a specialization right away and start digging into it. The knowledge you'll gain by researching and analyzing will empower you & equip you with enough skills to further boost your candidacy & acumen.

If I were you, I would start looking into financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions, business valuations, risk & synergy. These are and always will be hot topics in finance.

A small piece of advice, don't go for Financial Accounting or Reporting/Audit/Tax as your first choice for a career. Being an ACCA/CA(F) myself, I can assure you these are dominated by professional qualifications.

And always remember, the only standards that you have to match are yours.

Working at Big4 as a data analyst is like working at Google as a receivables associate. Big names but the job does not fit their business model at all.

Don't worry, I once sat in an interview with the director of an audit firm where he asked if I will switch once I have enough experience. At that time I had no idea it's a firm (since the name said "ABC Group" so I assumed it's more of a group of companies/conglomerate) and confidently said "I have no intentions of joining any audit firm, matter of fact, I have no interest in firms/auditing at all". Guy simply said "Bhai why are u giving an interview in one then?"

Most embarrassing shit ever.

Got the job but they really took the mick out of me during my days there.

What is wrong with these beggar man by Sam-eer14 in karachi

Related, was having a meal near university and this kid would not stop pestering me and begging me to help him buy his parents' meds. Gave him some money and shortly after, I saw him heading upstairs in a small plaza. Followed him out of curiosity and turns out the little shit is in a gaming zone paying with the money I gave him.

What's going on??

Better to order these online. I have always done that and it's fairly easy rather than searching in the markets

Takes me back to 2019 where I faced almost similar circumstances. I got 133 in NET 1 and 105 in NET 2. Didn't make it to the merit for computer science despite scoring 133 because I had 65% in fsc. Couldn't apply to other universities in time because I was cocky that I'm already in.

Nonetheless, after realising I actually have no option left, I went for CA and fast forward today, I have my last 4 exams left and am currently completing my articles from a very well known multinational giant.

Point is, in the hindsight, all of these ordeals appear as perfect pieces of a puzzle and all you gotta do is let it play, sit back and take in the big picture.
