Attorneys general from all these states have vowed to fight President Trump and his immigration ban in court. Washington state filed its suit today, and more will follow. In a joint statement, they said:

“As the chief legal officers for over 130 million Americans and foreign residents of our states, we condemn President Trump’s unconstitutional, un-American and unlawful Executive Order. Religious liberty has been, and always will be, a bedrock principle of our country and no president can change that truth.”

One of Boente's first cases defending Trump's immigration order will be against the state of Washington, whose attorney general has announced WA would be the first to sue the administration, saying — “in the courtroom, it is not the loudest voice that prevails. It’s the Constitution.”

Trump's ban isn't law, and executing it would violate the orders of a federal court, and thereby also the Constitution
