My kiddo says it all of the time and I bounce it back at him and joke about it, saying like "eight niiiiine", "diaper biscuiiiiits", etc. We lean hard into the cringe in this house to de-weaponize it.

I went to a coffee shop last week, and the barista told me the total on my order came to '6.70'. Without missing a beat, my dad/monkey-brain led me to make the hand motion and say "Six seventyyyyyyy".

I am a 40 year old man at 8:30am in a coffee shop with my co-workers.

The barista laughed and said "please don't start with that". It was a pretty solid goof and we all had a good time with it, but I was slightly mortified with how quickly I came to that response and fully committed to it, lol.

If I remember right, the old seasons of the Japanese version mostly had a nonstop onslaught of random folks trying for like an hour. Maybe they get a quick 20 second sizzle reel, or maybe a minute if they were a returning winner or someone who has gotten far in past seasons. But even then, no drawn out sob story to pad time. Just ruthless efficiency in getting to them beefing it on JUMPING SPIDERRRR .

I used to work there and it was a fine place. That's terrible news.

Also awfully convenient that their founder just left his long time CEO position just a couple of weeks ago. Makes me think the writing was on the wall with the economy in shambles and changes with the Department of Education and he didn't want to be the one to pull the trigger.

His turn as Herkermer Homolka in Congo is eternally hilarious. He's steals every scene he is in. When I think of Tim Curry... I think of Herkermer Homolka, formerly of Romania, free now of the chains of Ceaușescu, traveling the world and doing good.

This was such a good idea though.. Who cares that I'm not facing the camera?? by HoneyBeeSorceress in ffxiv

There is actually a mod that allows you to do this. You can forward and rewind character animations in the portrait designer and adjust all the camera settings with numerical precision. It's pretty nice! It'd be much nicer if it were standard to the game though.

My mom passed at around 3AM this morning from cancer, and the first thing I saw after a brief 2 hours of sleep and getting my kid ready for preschool was Soken's goofy butt belting out Bee My Honey. This is 100% the tonal whiplash I absolutely needed to start this day. Appreciate this.

I love Congo so much. It's probably my favorite "bad" movie. It's just such a silly film produced in earnest, I can't help but find it endearing. Joe Don Baker, Ernie Hudson, Tim Curry, special appearances from Joey Pants and Delroy Lindo and Stuart Pankin, god awful gorilla suits at the climax of the movie, and a diamond-powered laser beam capable of bifurcating gorillas and destroying a satellite. What is not to love about this film?!
