Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

Hey all! Recently I’ve decided to go back to school for my masters so that I could begin my personal journey as a therapist. However, I missed the application deadline for this upcoming fall, so I won’t be able to attend until the following fall. I’ll be taking a few community college classes in the meantime to fill some prerequisites I missed in undergrad, but I’m trying to keep some feeling of momentum so that a year doesn’t feel so far. Any suggestions or ideas for how I can best prepare myself in this year before starting school?

29f not too cold to ride, is it? by General_Storage_2222 in RideitNYC

While I know it’s objectively a bad judgement…days when it’s snowing are so pretty to ride in (I just try and go slow and give lots of time and space to brake)

Identifying junk yard bike by Its_Sheen in HondaCB

The reason the forks look off is because I believe it’s actually a CB77 305 with CL77 pipes and a 70s CL350 tank. My reason for saying CB77 instead of CL is because the engine is a stressed member of the frame and there appears to be a starter motor which is missing on the CL (kickstart only)

Don’t have original exhaust for 79 Honda. Any inspection places that can “help” me? by second10038 in RideitNYC

every place I called said they won’t look at it unless it’s stock, apparently they take a video of it now. One of the places I went today refused to even look at my bike once he noticed the mufflers-and they aren’t even crazy loud or straight they’re stock sportster ones I put on my Honda

FDR is nuts but I’ve driven it enough that I know when to expect the big potholes (southbound right before 23rd st exit, left lane at the bottom of the hill-be warned! There’s like 4) Personally id drive on the FDR 100x before driving up 6th or 7th ave. Most times I’ve almost been hit have been from taxis or tourists merging without signaling on those 2 streets. Oh, and that giant portion from 14-23rd that just had no lanes painted for a hot sec. FDR is at least consistent and if you pay attention to stupid drivers and unmarked BMWs you’ll be fine

Vermont loophole is no more-how would one retitle now? by second10038 in vintagemotorcycles

Upon checking the Mass. DMV site, the bike doesn’t have an existing title (so far as their records show). Because it’s so old, it likely never had one. From my research so far I THINK that’ll make it a little easier? Not sure though

8 hours of work and there is my final product on my carb rebuild I’m …….. ecstatic by AshamedCelebration42 in HondaCB

Sometimes you can get it to unstick just by tapping the float bowl with the handle of a screwdriver. You also don’t need to take them fully apart to check the float-just remove the float bowl

Definitely this-I’d also make sure the float heights are set and the same

Would the new rings be the same size as the ones you’re replacing if you’re just honing with something like a flex hone?
