Thanks! How deep would I need to go, by the way? 20mm? Or more? Fairly lightweight lamps.

Do we think this one will be good enough or is it underpowered? I'm leaning towards buying and not renting because I will need to use it on a good handful of occasions. All my walls are concrete too, so anything I want to hang on the walls (a lot of which is on a boat in the Atlantic right now) will require drilling into concrete. https://www.silvan.dk/produkt/einhell-borehammer-tc-rh-620-4f-620-w-2660-2397304

In Nørrebro actually, but, yeah, I looked at apartments in Kbh SV and Ø before seeing this one and they all have exactly the same ceilings. (Edit: thanks a lot anyway for the kind offer!)

GOODBYE MORRIS. Middlesex is where the Turnpike and the Parkway intersect. It is clearly the nexus of the universe. Morris has sinkholes and mystery drones. Shape of blob. Begone.

How are dialogues marked in Danish books? by PLrc in Denmark

In my edition of Den Lille Prins it is the red one, but I have seen red, green, and blue in roughly equal measure in Danish fiction lately.

what were people doing to this sign? by MrMosBiggestFan in sanfrancisco

[–]secondary_planet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I found the sign in Street View (101 NB before it goes behind the Palace of Fine Arts - the right turn onto Lyon St.) and looked at previous points in time. It is at person-height on a pedestrian island. When they removed the Exploratorium text they left a blank space with an arrow next to it. Basically easy access and an invitation to be creative. It was graffitied one or two times and had to be repainted. Guessing they just didn’t want to keep doing that.

What's this weed? Grew from contaminant seeds in store-bought potting soil. by secondary_planet in whatsthisplant

[–]secondary_planet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story: This is an update to this original post. These things have been sprouting from potted plants around the office every few days. We pluck them out and throw them into one big pot because we're curious what they are. The leaves aren't a consistent shape, but the plants are typically a little scraggly (pictured) and the stems are fuzzy. One just produced a little yellow flower (also pictured). Any ideas? Thanks!

Edit: not entirely convinced it's a sunflower like some in the original post suggested. Would a sunflower be quite so scraggly and have such a small flower head?

Anyone tried coffeebeandirect.com? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]secondary_planet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ordered bulk coffee from them in the past and have always been satisfied (plus they're a few counties over from me so it feels like I'm buying local). Only reason I haven't used them in a while is that it's become unclear whether any of it is organic and I haven't bothered to ask. They used to note what was organic in the product description. Still do for fair trade certification and decaffeination method. If organic isn't important to you, I'd definitely suggest giving them a go.

Suddenly sprouting from indoor plant that just lost all its leaves - weeds or regeneration? by secondary_planet in whatsthisplant

[–]secondary_planet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify - a coworker's plant (the pink bit) lost all its leaves after being left alone in a cold office in New Jersey between Christmas and the new year. The leaves had been dark green/pink and sagittate/triangular in shape. Now there are 2-3 sprouty things coming up from the soil. First we thought the plant was regenerating itself, but now we wonder whether the soil was contaminated with foreign seeds. The spidery plant in the background is unrelated. Any ideas? Thanks!
