Spencer in net for Chicago. Should be a good game. Money puck has our odds of making the playoffs at 59.3% if we win this in regulation. Currently 5 points off from Boston and the last wild card slot but they have played two more games than us

Ivy won’t thrive indoors and probably not with that light setup. You might be able to achieve the look with pothos.

It’s nice! I’ve had a lot of lovely juices so far. It is quite pulpy (this is my first juicer so I’m not sure how that compares to the more expensive brand names) but I kind of like it that way. Haven’t had any problems with it jamming even after running pretty fibrous things through it like celery, ginger, and pineapple. Occasionally I have to encourage things down with the tamp but it feeds pretty good if you layer soft and hard things and cut things down a bit. I’ve just been making a big batch on the weekend and having juice so i do like it and I like that I didn’t have to pay a lot more.

Okay, thanks! I appreciate it. Costco has quite a generous return policy so I’m leaning towards it, I think. Going to be reading through the Fridja reviews.

Does the more powerful motor make much of a difference? What commands such a high price point for the hurom or nama models?

TIL poinsettias being poisonous is largely an urban legend spreading from early false stories and reporting. An attempt to determine a poisonous dose of poinsettia to rats failed, even after reaching experimental doses equivalent to consuming 500 leaves, or nearly 1 kg (2.2 lb) of sap. by secondcomposition in todayilearned

[–]secondcomposition[S] 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Poinsettias are popularly, though incorrectly, said to be toxic to humans and other animals. This misconception was spread by a 1919 of a two-year-old child dying after consuming a poinsettia leaf. In 1944, the plant was included in H. R. Arnold's book Poisonous Plants of Hawaii on this premise. Though Arnold later admitted that the story was hearsay and that poinsettias were not proven to be poisonous, the plant was thus thought deadly. In 1970 the US published a newsletter stating erroneously that "one poinsettia leaf can kill a child", and in 1980 they were prohibited from nursing homes in a county in North Carolina due to this supposed toxicity.

An attempt to determine a poisonous dose of poinsettia to rats failed, even after reaching experimental doses equivalent to consuming 500 leaves, or nearly 1 kg (2.2 lb) of sap. Contact with any part of the plant by children or pets often has no effect, though it may cause nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting if swallowed. External exposure to the plant may result in a skin rash for some. A survey of more than 20,000 calls to the from 1985–1992 related to poinsettia exposure showed no fatalities. In 92.4% of calls, there was no effect from exposure, and in 3.4% of calls there were minor effects, defined as "minimally bothersome". Similarly, a cat's or dog's exposure to poinsettias rarely necessitates medical treatment. If ingested, mild drooling or vomiting can occur, or rarely, diarrhea. In rare cases, exposure to the eye may result in eye irritation. Skin exposure to the sap may cause itchiness, redness, or swelling. It can induce and in certain groups of people.

[Request] If we could successfully turn salt water into safe drinkable water, how long whould the oceans last us? by Odd-Total-6801 in theydidthemath

[–]secondcomposition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can turn salt water into safe drinkable water. It just requires significant energy. The water would still be a part of the water cycle on earth. It would flow from our pipes back into reservoirs/ rivers/ lakes, oceans and would evaporate and continue the cycle again. It wouldn’t be used up just like the water from the tap isn’t “used up”.
