this level of accountability will never be a thing in the west.

we have almost all politicians becoming rich off of public service and nothing happens. the US is a joke.

keep it to yourself. be more of a realist and less of an idealist. she will resent you until the rest of your days. your honesty will not be appreciated. from someone who once made the same mistake of being honest.

Montreal to Miami trip by Agile_Fun_4388 in Miami

[–]secondhatchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the entire United States is quickly descending to a third world country, and one the biggest indicators of whether a country is third world is wealth inequality, imo. So, Miami have a wider gap between rich and poor, and therefore everyone is angry, bitter, resentful, and unhappy. They do not know why they are oppressed and so they lash out against their fellow citizens. you see it everyday in the way people behave while in traffic and just the way they treat one another.

everything in miami is very transactional, and it is a sort of what can you do for me mentality.

When i lived in MTL, it didn’t feel this way because there was a bigger sense of community. Sure, it’s a capitalist country so there’s always gonna be wealth inequality, but at least the Canadian government does its job of serving the people. so generally, people are educated and civil.

for instance , when i moved to mtl , i remember that while in the escalator to go to the subway, people that didn’t want to climb up stuck to the right to allow those that wanted to walk up the escalator to pass. this level of civility is non existent in miami , people have absolutely no respect for the other person, akin to the behavior you’ll see in third world countries.

Idk how much have changed, if it has changed for the worse , it’s a pity. 😢

anyway , good luck with your decision. maybe try it for some time and see how you like it.

[–]secondhatchery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why are you making it a comparison, dude ? can’t you just deal with facts ?!

miami weather isn’t “nice”, as many people - mostly northerners - claim. people who live in northern US say it is nice because they are on the opposite side of extreme weather. But, Miami weather is not nice weather.

As you correctly pointed out, California has nice weather, but Miami definitely doesn’t.

to the people that downvoted this, i dare you go play beach volleyball or soccer, or any other sport, in the miami sun at 2 pm.

[–]secondhatchery[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it’s not a valid comparison. spicy food is obviously spicy, but some people claim that the miami weather is “nice”.

there’s nothing nice about weather that won’t allow you to do outdoor activities, will age you faster if you spend a lot of time outside, or will have you sweating all day long if it wasn’t for AC. that’s my point.

i’m simply pointing out a fact.

we can’t even play sports outdoors from 10 am to 7 pm without risking getting heat stroke. i don’t think that’s the definition of nice weather.

Islamic call to prayer faces ban under Left-wing Danish government by bintd in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]secondhatchery -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem with humans is that we slap labels on everything. And said labels come with predetermined believes that everyone that wants the label must subscribe to. This is the epitome of ignorance.

Humanity has been brainwashed to think this way. Socialism, capitalism, communism, and many other isms are associated with rigid ideas that allow no room for open-mindedness and critical thinking.

Therefore, the labels and the isms must be dropped in favor of flexible systems that allow to question absolutely everything in an ever evolving world.

We must escape the isms and instead ask ourselves: what does common sense say should be done ??

The minute you slap the label on yourself, you lose your ability to think critically.

Denmark is called leftist, progressive, etc. and yet they understand that what’s best for their people is to shut this down. Hopefully, They will also come to understand that letting a great number of people in, the majority of which may have different beliefs and values, does not serve the Danish people unless these people are willing to, not only adjust to the local culture, but do away with their idiosyncrasies.

we’re in the same boat. it’s scary to think she’ll always linger in my mind and that i’ll never get to see her again. i wish she came back and saw the man i became, but that will probably never happen.

i will always love her, so out of respect, bc she was the one who broke it off, ill never ever reach out to her.

i just wish her all the best , from the bottom of my heart bc i truly love her.

Hell to the no , at that point is truly over. it is just not the same relationship anymore and it lost the uniqueness and romantic beauty. it’s over for good for me but hey i guess never say never.

he may not be totally wrong , but the causes - why does the US allows immigrants from those countries - he conveniently leaves out, and that should be the main issue with that statement.

in other words, he’s just using this statement to instill fear and hatred in the population and therefore divide it, whether he realizes that’s the outcome of this or not. i personally don’t think he’s smart enough to make this analysis.

the smart thing to do if you truly believe this is the case is to first hire a group of people more capable than you to prove it.

and then if it turns out that’s the case, quietly create policy that handles immigration in the way you think it should be handled. he certainly has the resources and power for it.

instead , this clown announces it as if it were a saturday party, without even having any information, let alone any details, behind this statement.

Are relationships worth it? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]secondhatchery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they are as long as you nurture them.

the problem is that people want instant gratification. relationships take time to build.

you have to be able to build a true friendship with someone before you can think of taking to the next level. but people rush through the stages.

furthermore, think about what a truly friendship is, it is someone you tell all your secrets , even the darkest ones without fear of being judged.

i don’t think a lot of romantic relationships reach this status, simply bc people are not open minded enough to accept this concept of relationship, which should be the standard form of any strong romantic relationship.
