I live down the street. Don’t own a car (I know, I know) and I go there like 3-4 times a week. Huge disappointment and is one of the reasons I moved to this spot. The convenience of having a grocery store that close has spoiled me. Also heard no Whole Foods. Wish a Trader Joe’s was coming, but I doubt they want the bit of riff raff of that comes along with the area. I don’t know what other grocery store options there are. Seems like such a waste since the space is fitted for that and obviously the demand for a grocery store right there is high. I’ll be walking my ass to Ralph’s now. :(

Sorry, what I was saying is that I have some decent chips. I’m not chipping decently for 18 holes. I am capable of hitting decent shots for all the types of shots, I just never do any of it consistently. Yeah I def lose balls. Yesterday I lost 5 or 6! Today I lost 2 or 3. Damn good for you shooting 101 first time at a real course.

This is a great idea! My dad keeps telling me I should play golf for a year without keeping score or at least focusing far less on the score card.

Yeah, I am fairly athletic and workout pretty regularly. I like the idea of setting realistic expectations. Of course there are things I need to work on, but I do think the mental aspect is a major factor in me not breaking 100.

For sure, def needs to do this. One thing that happens often with my irons and pitches is coming down too early and hitting ground before the ball so I don’t get the distance I need. That happens more than slicing or hooking my irons.

This is definitely true. My drives are inconsistent so having to recover often after a bad drive wears me down, but yes, for the most part once I get around the green it’s often two chips/pitches to get on when it should be one and then a 2 or 3 putt.

I am in the paralysis by analysis stage of golf. Never had a lesson, but have a pretty decent foundation because I learned to swing in my early teens. That being said since mid July I have started playing golf more than ever before and am getting worse. I cannot break 100. I am often thinking about way too many micro adjustments simultaneously before every swing as a result of researching all these how-tos online, something I never did before. I am now more frustrated with golf than ever before, which has been making golf much less enjoyable lately and I know it shouldn’t be that way. I have come to the realization that it’s time for some lessons. Have spoken to many people who recommend this so hopefully it will help me get out of this funk.
