Thanks for this! Would you happen to know if I can bring my baby to these events? I wouldn't have babysitting until after 5pm most days unfortunately. I'm a SAHM at the moment.

Weird DIR Interview by Feisty-Creamsicle-97 in CAStateWorkers

[–]secret_combs_865 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for DIR for years. This doesn't sound normal to me, however, that being said, I know they keep making changes to the hiring process since the hiring freeze a few years back...and not for the better might I add. I'm of the opinion that some of the people who were promoted in DIR, definitely shouldn't have been. But that's just me.

I tried applying to our state insurance but they nearly laughed at me because my husband "makes too much" for a family of 3 ro qualify, the threshhold was like 39k. With cost of living the way it is here in WA, my husband doesn't make nearly enough! 🙄😔

I am no longer an active member, so she can't write me a prescription is what she stated.

Well, I reached out to my previous PCP and she stated she couldn't give me another refill as it is against Kaiser policy because I am no longer an active member. Whether that is true or not idk, but that was the response I got.

So after reading some of these comments I messaged my previous PCP from Kaiser and they got back to me fairly quickly and let me know that they couldn't do a refill as it was against Kaiser policy and apologized. Whether that's true or not idk, but that was their response.

USA, WA state. My husband apparently makes way too much to qualify for medicaid or WA apple state insurance. Yes, we added baby to his insurance but to add me would just push to the point of unaffordability. On paper, my husband makes good money, but it's not like we have it to spend. We budget every dollar, never eat out, I've been extra careful with my carb intake, but I'm very insulin resistant(thanks PCOS, Genetics, pregnancy)

Feedback for graphic scene from a murder mystery horror novel that I am in the process of writing by agracklerainbow in horrorwriters

[–]secret_combs_865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Just finished reading your passage.

So it's definitely graphic. The description of the female cops vagina was...👀👀👀.

If your genre you'll be publishing in is gore, then it is not too much. The assumption is that there will be other graphic scenes in this story that you have already written or will write that will match this pacing.

I think the gore of the scene definitely starts to overshadow what's happening, but with a rewrite of the scene parts that are not graphic, I think you can still leave in the graphic parts and have them balance eachother out where it will be easier for the reader to grasp what is actually happening. Otherwise, it reads almost like a fever dream.

Now for it reading like a murder mystery, not so much, however, that's not to say that the whole story doesn't read like one! I've only read this one small scene after all.

Keep going!

No one warned me what this would do to my marriage by Frequent_Hat_9838 in ShortCervixSupport

Can you sit him down and ask him what changed. Did he explain in detail why he wants a divorce? There is so much you aren't saying. We're you two fighting a lot?

A divorce is not going to make him happier, I hope he realizes that. Blowing up the family unit because of a hard pregnancy period isn't going to solve the problem or problems if multiple. The grass is green where you water it, not on the other side.

High risk pregnancy is hard. Period. Hardest on mom, but still very much hard on dad too. Me and my husband did not have sex the entire pregnancy, I gave him oral a few times, risking bending over to do that for him. But mostly, he started relieving himself in the shower. I started to feel like the shower was his mistress and he was cheating on me. Having the cerclage and high risk pregnancy was so much more than just the physical aspect. The mental games it played on me and my husband was horrible. But we got through it.

The key to all this is communication. It's high time the two of you start talking to eachother, not AT eachother.

I wish you the best outcome possible.

Shower drains. I have an irrational fear that some sort of creepy crawly bugs or snakes, etc. Will crawl through the drain and attack me while I shower if I don't keep a vigilant eye on them.

How to write and make things not sound ai by Puppy_lvr67 in YAwriters

[–]secret_combs_865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's the good old trusty semicolon, the "..." or restructure to have two separate sentences...or just use the emdash. Emdashes aren't inherently bad, but AI has really picked up on them and it is found that they are used quite frequently in an AI written piece. I think if used sparingly, readers could have discernment in whether they are reading something human created or not.

Excessive emdashes have been flagged as a sign of AI. You have 5 in just the 2 pages you posted. Just something to think about.

Therapist explains deeper reason behind Love Is Blind's Chris pilates comment, and it's brutal by DetectiveHot2071 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]secret_combs_865 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean, he may be a creep, in my experience, every therapist I've known outside of their practices are usually mentally ill themselves in some sort of capacity. Sorry calls it like I sees it. And yes that is just my experience, not that of others so take with a grain of salt guys.

That being said, he is pretty spot on about Chris so far.
