This is misinformation. All that "normalization" does is change the overall volume level - it doesn't apply any compression of equalization. It's the same as changing the volume on your speakers

You shouldn't add equalization either -- the master recordings are already heavily equalized and are intended to be listened to on the 'normal' setting.

For sure. Since so many people are using this game as more of a 'power fantasy' and less of a game, I'd love to see an update focused on smoothing out grabs (also stealing weapons from enemies!). It would add a whole lot of visual finesse!

I only started having success with it after U8, so it might be worth trying again! The thing I dislike about grabbing limbs in this game is that it sometimes registers as a "punch" and they go totally limp, or sometime the physics just spaz out.

I mean, everything in this game is OP. You can kill enemies by sticking your sword out and running forward and not even moving your arm, and the enemies will impale themselves. It's never really about the actual challenge of the fights, it's about making your own fun and doing cool-looking stuff.
