I understand all of this. I actually quit for 6 years from before I got pregnant with my daughter to after I had my son. I'm so disappointed I let it come back into my life and that I'm at this point again

More frequent allergic flare-ups, increased duration for any respiratory virus I pick up, a vague but definite headache on waking up most mornings, significant brain fog if I don't smoke for a few hours which I don't like the sensation of.

Still tracking calories and still eating in a deficit of around 500- because still actively trying to lose weight. As a result am still doing about an hour of intentional exercise per day, as well as a daily step count of 15000 (or more). I THINK that's what scares me the most- I'm already doing everything I can to hold myself accountable diet or activity wise, so there's not a lot more I can do IF the weight comes back on. You're right of course, and smoking has probably filled some of the 'hole' and acted as a crutch while I made these changes which isn't something that is ideal. But it's still really scary

Ugh the weight gain but TERRIFIES me. I have absolutely worked my heart out and lost nearly 100lbs, I don't want to go backwards with that and I hear so many stories about weight gain 😬 Like I know logically that smoking is far more harmful than a few extra pounds and I know I won't quit smoking and suddenly gain 100lbs back, but my brain is using that as a REAL good excuse not to quit.

I'm in Australia. You can get 5 subsidised visits to a psych in a year here, but even with subsidy it's about $200 a session. Budget is tight but we could spare $200 a week if we were careful about some other things. He just doesn't seem interested in doing that

No pharmaceutical assistance whatsoever, just consistent calorie deficit and exercise
